Food choices, meal size, nausea
I had my surgery Dec 14th and I still am having problem with nausea. I am not sure if it is eating too much or the wrong thing . But when I do, I feel bad for a while. Usually I try to revert back to mashed potatoes ,etc and that seems to help. I was wondering how everyone else is doing with their diet and if you are having problems also?
I had mine surgery on 12/15. It was rough the first few weeks, but now I can eat cheeses, crackers, soups, and even some turkey (although the first time it came back up). I'm going to try tuna or fish again this weekend. I've only had to throw up twice, but when I did it was fish and turkey. I think it was too dry and/or I ate it too quickly.

Hi there. I haven't experienced any nausea so far. My surgery was on the 28th of December. So far, I'm able to eat three, two ounce meals a day. Cottage cheese, Vienna sausages, cheese, luncheon meat, instant grits and moist chicken are my main staples. I've started experiencing hunger pains, though.

I had my surgery on 12/16/04 and I've noticed that when I get nausea it's either because I've eaten something that was a little to fatty or I've eaten to much. Maybe try and keep a food journal and see what your eating and keep track of your nausea and see if you can maybe pinpoint it down to a certain food. I had to do that and found out that I can't tolerate eggs right now, they make me horribly sick to my stomach. Hope that helps and things will get better.

I had surgery on 12/06. I am lucky I have not experienced any nausea at all. However if I eat something that my pouch does not like (bacon) than my pouch tells me. I get the burps and can heave ho. I am eating almost anything now. I take small bites and chew very well. I stay away from heavy items with fat and breads. I had well chopped up salads (delicious) 3 days in a row and experienced some cramping and discomfort. I quickly realized that too much ruffage was not appreciated. I keep small containers of baby food fruits around. If I find something too dry than I eat some of the baby food. This helps. Drinking at least 64 oz of water a day and eating protein first also helps stave off nausea I am told. My nutrionist told me to eat at least 1000 calories, with 100 grm carbs and 70-90 grms protein.

I had my Surgery on 12-28-04, and believe me your are not alone. I go thorugh it almost every othr day. I started a food journal so that i can pin-point where my problem is. I just pray that this too shall pass. Good Luck and hope you feel better soon.
