OH 6 ER'S WHERE ARE YOU?
I AM DOING GOOD!!! I HAVE HAD A GREAT WEEK.. I AM FEELING NORMAL.. I SAT DOWN AND ATE A PEICE OF MEATLOAF VERY SMALL BUT IT TASTED SO GOOD... ALSO GREENBEANS WITH CRUMBLED BACON MMMM GOOD.. MY HUSBAND IS AWSOME HE IS ALWAYS SAYING GOOD THINGS TO ME AND ENCOURAGING ME. I AM DEFINATLY CHANGING SIZES.. MY CLOTHES ARE GETTING VERY BIG ON ME... BUT I STILL NEED TO WEAR THEM... CAN'T AFFORD TO RUN OUT AND BY CLOTHES EVERY WEEK.
THE BEST THING WAS A SUPPORT MEETING THAT HELPED ME WITH GETTING MY PILLS DOWN.. I WAS MIXING THEM WITH APPLESAUSE. AND THE GAL SAID... GET SOME SUGAR FREE JELLY... PUT IT IN THE SPOON...FLATTEN IT OUT POUR YOUR CRUSHED UP PILLS ON TOP, THEN ADD MORE JELLY TO COVER. THEN OPEN WIDE AND SLURP THAT JELLY DOWN... HOW WONDERFUL... I TAKE A LITTLE SIP OF WATER WITH IT AND IT SLIDES DOWN AND TASTE LIKE JELLY INSTEAD OF CRUSHED PILLS.. SO THAT IS MY BIG DEAL FOR THIS WEEK... TRY IT LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK... HAVE A GOOD WEEK MY FRIENDS... BONBON
Hi Bon Bon!
Fellow 6 er, reporting in!!
I'm doing great. 7 weeks out, down 41lbs. I've had a great week, my first full week back at work. My c.diff. seems to be under control, and I'm handling foods well. No problems with anything! I even ate a steak taco at work this week - was YUMMY!! (just ate the meat and cheese, and a bite of the tortilla shell, but still, YUM!)
My support system is fabulous! I have a great group of friends from the oh.com MN board. We got together on Saturday night at a local restaurant. I want to say there was 25 of us? It was a blast. I also go once a week to a support group sponsored by my surgeon's office.
Am I losing enough to see it in my clothes? You betcha! I've gone from a tight 28 to a loose 24. My bras have gone from a tight 48DDD to a nice 42DDD. I'm not buying clothes yet, luckily we "pay it forward" with my support group, so I've got some great clothes to last me a while.
The best thing that happened this week was a co-worker came up to me with a smile on her face and told me I was melting away, and that she'd never seen me happier. That made my day!!!
Have a great week!

Hello all 6 ER's. I am doing very well. I am down 36 lbs and I can feel the difference and I LOVE it. My arthritic knees are still hurting me, but they are getting better. I have days where I can walk without my cane. I am still not doing exercise and this bothers me. I need to find a new gym where I can go and use the treadmill for now. I enjoyed the weight lifting machines last year and am waiting for release from my surgeon before I start back with thoses. (surgeon app 2/24). Also ordered the DVD, "Walk away the pounds". I had this before but one of my puppies ate it. Small steps will add up I know. Last week was very good. I am eating a whole range of foods, chewing well and enjoying what I eat. Still very thankful for my great protein drink, I start the day with one and am trying to get another in at night. Drinking all my water, my skin is not flacky dry. I go for a salt glow massage on Saturday. This is a great treatment, it exfoliates the skin and brings out the new cells. I will glow after.
My hubby does all the cooking and last week he made bean soup, meatloaf (so very good, I had it two nights in a row), and a roasted chicken. I make oatmeal for breakfast or a hard boiled egg. I have tuna or chicken salad for lunch, or a couple of cheese sticks. I sip water all day and evening. I treat myself to baby food peaches, applesauce, or pears. I had a salad last night and it was very good, although I had some reservations about eating salad. I had a bowl of dry cereral with my smart skim milk and at work we ordered out chinese food on Friday. I was a little nervous about this but the chicken and broccoli was great, I could only eat a small amount but it was very good and satisfiying. Making sure I eat enough calories and carbs is still a struggle. My nutritionist wants at least 1000 calories and 100 carbs per day. I have no problem getting in my protein.
My support is wonderful. My hubby and children are very much behind me and let me know how proud they are of me. My hubby makes me feel like a queen. Went to a small group support meeting on Thursday with my hubby at the weight loss doctors office. This was very good. I have another one group this Tuesday, it is a larger group made up of all post-op people.
My clothes are getting big, especially in my butt and legs-who would have ever thunk that. I have ankles and find that I stare at them at night since they are so much smaller. My uppper body and waist are still holding onto the fat, but it will shrink.
One of the best things that happened this past week was I cleaned out my closet of those clothes I will no longer wear. This is very exciting for me. I tried on some clothes I have not been able to wear and they fit now. So I feel like I have some "new" things. I also bought new socks at a regular store, they are not queen size and they do not cut off my legs circulation. Happiness is new socks. Ha Ha.
All in all life is good. Everyday I am thankful I made this decision to take back my life. Feeling healthier is so very wonderful. I feel cleaner and more feminine. I am empowered.
Keep up the good work we are all doing and thanks for asking BON BON.

hi. i can eat anything i want to. nothing, as of yet, has made me feel sick. not even pork or hamburger meat. i feel that i am lucky since i have not 'dumped' at all. i have a hard time w/64 oz of water and i don't drink protein drinks but i eat plenty of protein during the day. i get in about 48-56 oz of water in a day. tomorrow i go to the drs and he'll be able to tell me my true weight loss. but per my scale i lost another 5 pounds so it's 32 pnds so far. it's alittle depressing to read how much everyone else has lost and they had their surg on the same day as me, but what can i say. i don't exercise at all so there's a big part of the problem. i'll start exercising in 2 weeks when i go back to work. ok, take care, and you are doing great. sue
Hi, Bon Bon. I am doing OK. Just frustrated with my scale. I think last week I probably lost only 2 pounds. That's 36.5 all together. I've walking every day for at least 2 miles, I try to drink about 60 oz of water. I don't drink protein drinks. , however I make my every meal consist basically of protein. I tend to stick to the same things: yougurt, lowfat cottage cheese, apple sauce, mozarella sticks and chili. Yesterday, I made some eggs from egg beaters (fried them using Pam and put a little bit of cheese on top). The eggs came out a little chucky, I took a few bites and was doubled over in pain. Needless to say, I didn't eat them, I gave them to my husband. Last night, however, we went out for sushi and I was able to have my favorite thing-spicy tuna. It was on a wonton. I ate only the tuna and gave the wonton to my daughter. I could only manage half a cup of miso soup. I've become a slave to my scale. Sometimes, I think my body is in starvation mode. I probably don't get enough protein in. My clothes definitely fit differently. I can't wear my old pants, I actually bought some new ones 2 sizes smaller. The tops that were tight are now loose. I am totally loving it. I am motivated to dress up and even wear hills. Hope you are doing well.
Hey all, glad to hear we are all well. I am also a little frustrated with the scale this week. I have lost 40 pounds, but only 2 this past week! For some reason, i feel if i eat too much sodium, it stalls my weightloss. I was craving a deli pickle this week so i went and got one cut up from the deli. It tasted yummy, low in calories, but was too much sodium! I truely believe it stalled my weightloss. Or like someone else said, i may be in starvation mode!! My clothes are fitting so much better, and lucky me my closet is filled with a variety of sizes!! lol My family is very supportive thank goodness! My dad was very concerned prior to surgery but looks very happy for me and tells me how good i look all the time! I think he now realizes this was the best decision of my life! I am going back to college starting tomorrow night, boy am i scared! I stopped in to pay and buy my books the other day. I couldn't resist stopping in a classroom to check the size of the chairs!!I just fit!!! Wi**** was better but i can't complain, it will get easier each week! After this semester, I will start the nursing program next fall! Its been a lifelong dream that constantly got put on hold for various reasons! But NO longer! I am doing what is good for me for now on and thats that!
Congrats to all on all your success! I am proud of each of us for taking our life back! Have a great week! (((HUGS))) Colleen
