SURGERY TYPE: RNY - PROXIMAL SURGERY DATE: 12/20/04 WEIGHT BEFORE: 343 WEIGHT CURRENTLY: 311 TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS SO FAR: -32 TYPICAL MEAL (B - L - D - S): B- 1 egg, water; L- Atkins Chocolate Protein shake; D - some type of seafood 2 oz, or soup - apple juice/water/more water; S - apple sauce, water, veggie crisps WHAT WORKS FOR YOU: apple juice & seafoods WHAT DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU: crackers & tomato juice, so far PROBLEMS: none (thank God) PRAISES: I've lost 32 lbs in 1 month! ANY OTHER INFORMATION YOU WANT TO SHARE: I love the fact that I can now do a low impact work out at Bally's and can eat something new! NEW PRODUCTS TO SHARE: VITA BALLS, MIGHTY GREEN TEA (HERBAL) OK, I KNOW IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT, BUT WE NEED TO HAVE 1 MESSAGE ON THIS BOARD THAT WE CAN SEE A 'BUNCH' OF REPLIES TO, AS A 'REFERENCE'. RON FERRELL: surgery date-12/20/2004--R>N>Yweight b4 surgery 487..two week check up456dont know 1month yet.my meals are..B-hard boiled egg(whites only) 1/4 piece of sausage,slice of cheese SN protein shake.Lsplit pea with ham and bacon soup,two crackers.SN-protein shakeD-salmon pattie and 1/2cheese stickSNprotein shake,,and popsicles sugar free of course and about 80 ounces of water a day..cheese and crackers are very easy for me to eat......tuna is hard for me to eat,,and popsicles i can eat anytime...

SURGERY TYPE: RNY - PROXIMAL SURGERY DATE: 12/20/04 WEIGHT BEFORE: 308 WEIGHT CURRENTLY: 270.5 TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS SO FAR: -37.5 TYPICAL MEAL (B - L - D - S): i don't have typical meals yet. I eat whatever sounds good at the time - lots of cheese still, peanut butter, eggs, and mushy foods. WHAT WORKS FOR YOU: apple juice, fruit popsicles, cheese WHAT DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU: oatmeal, macaroni and cheese PROBLEMS: incisional infection PRAISES: I've lost 37.5 lbs in 1 month and my health has already improved tremendously! ANY OTHER INFORMATION YOU WANT TO SHARE: I'm glad I did this! It's the hardest thing I've ever done, but also the most worth it!! Also, don't be afraid to call your doctor if you have questions or concerns. Remember....you are paying him/her!

Hey everybody! Thought I would post my progress. SURGERY TYPE: RNY - proximal DATE: 12-16-04 WT PRIOR: 283 WT NOW: 257 TYPICAL MEAL: B - 2oz Carb Freedom yogurt L - 2 sticks of string cheese D - one scrambled egg S - I don't snack....I'm too full WHAT WORKS: Carb free foods WHAT DOESN'T WORK: 1% or Skim milk for protein supplementation. Too many CARBS!! PROBLEMS: Have only vomited once. I ate too fast and didn't chew good enough. Hard to imagine that could happen from eating soft cheese, but it did! NEW PRODUCTS: Carb Countdown chocolate milk. It's wonderful! Tastes too good to be true!

B Isopure (I water it down just a little with crystal light or water) while I work out on the tredmill. Unjury in the car on the way to work. L tuna salad, or chicksalad w/ three cracker (multi wheat) small container of light peaches D smart one pizza, sugar free popsciles Date 12/16/04 Weight started at 200 now 183 Problems None but do use lactaid milk now

SURGERY TYPE: RNY - PROXIMAL SURGERY DATE: 12/13/04 WEIGHT BEFORE: 311 WEIGHT CURRENTLY: 269 TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS SO FAR: -42 TYPICAL MEAL (B - L - D - S): B- 1 poached egg, 2 oz cottage cheese L- 2 oz refried beans, 1 tbls grated cheese D - 2oz of either fish or lean meat, 1 tbls veggie S - mozzarella cheese stick, applesauce unsweetened, cottage cheese, SF pudding, cheddar cheese sm cubes, Protein shake w/ American Whey and Carb Countdown milk fat free 32 g protein WHAT WORKS FOR YOU: very moist meat and chewing very good and eating extremely slow WHAT DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU: scallops, salmon and eating too fast PROBLEMS: For about 3 days everything I ate got stuck figured out it was too dry and I was eating too fast PRAISES: I can wear my Levi's again the smallest size in 15 years

Hi Everybody, I thought I'd check in too. Surgery Type: RNY-Proximal Surgery date: 12/17/04 Weight before: 358 Weight on 1/3/04: 338 (haven't weighed since.) Typical Meal: B-Instant breakfast with 1 scoop IsoPure protein powder Sn-2 oz. tuna and 1 slice cheddar cheese L- fat free refried beans with cheese on top. Sn-IsoPure Alpine Punch protein drink. D-cup Wendy's chili with 2 crackers. Also water, water, water. What works: cheese, crackers, tuna, hummus What doesn't: salmon, eggs Problems: Getting in enough food and water in a day. Seems like all I do is eat and drink! Praises: I'm losing weight and feeling great. I also love seeing what other people are eating, it's given me lots of ideas--loved that chili! Keep on communicatin'.

SURGERY TYPE: LAP RNY - PROXIMAL SURGERY DATE: 12/22/04 WEIGHT BEFORE: 276 WEIGHT CURRENTLY: 246 TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS SO FAR: -30 TYPICAL MEAL (B - L - D - S): I try to keep things varied. Some days it's eggs for breakfast, some it's oatmeal (plain) or cream of wheat. Lunch consists of lunch meat or other type of protein and cheese. Snacks are usually protein drinks (made from powder) and dinner is protein. WHAT WORKS FOR YOU: so far pretty much everything WHAT DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU: Alfredo Sauce or it could have been the spinach! LOL PROBLEMS: none PRAISES: I feel like I'm taking up less space in the world! ANY OTHER INFORMATION YOU WANT TO SHARE: I love that I'm starting to eat 'normal' foods and can sit down with my family again at dinner NEW PRODUCTS TO SHARE: Nothing really...

SURGERY TYPE: RNY - PROXIMAL SURGERY DATE: 12/20/04 WEIGHT BEFORE: 349 WEIGHT CURRENTLY: 321 (on 1/7/04) TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS SO FAR: -28 TYPICAL MEAL (B - L - D - S): B - Protein shake L - yogurt or cheese or beans or soup D - Whatever I didn't eat at lunch S - Try not to snack (Doc says not to) WHAT WORKS FOR YOU: Puddings, shakes, refried beans, soups WHAT DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU: Wendy's chili, potatoes PROBLEMS: None PRAISES: I am so glad I had this surgery! I am already in a size smaller pants! ANY OTHER INFORMATION YOU WANT TO SHARE: I just got the Magic Bullet and I love it! It makes making my protein shakes a breeze!!!!
