Is Your Weight Stuck?.... 12/20 Team 'to do'... and all December 04's, too!
Hey new 12/20 Team member... and TEAM!
Guess what, by reading the Main Message board (which I do for Expert advice from far 'outters', I have learned that the further 'out' we get, the more protein and water intake we should do.
If you are still taking in the same amount of water/protein, since your liquid phase, now that you are on a soft-food diet, your water/protein should be increased to 60g or more of protein (including shake and food), and 90 oz of water, or MORE.
I know it seems like a lot, but this is how you keep your body from thinking it is still in STARVATION mode, and holding on to the fat.
The more you inpu****er/protein wise, the more fat your body will release, as a result.
Try it out. One of our 12/20 team members did, and she is 43 lbs down, @ 1 month! Wow.
And I thought being 32 lbs down was great!
It is... but, I want to loose 12lbs before 2/1, and I'll be sure to do what she suggested!
INCREASE YOUR WATER/PROTEIN AND START WALKING MORE!

thats a great idea. problem is that I can hardly get it all in now. I have lost a total of 53 lbs and my surgery date was the 20th also. I started at 351 and now am at 298. Breaking the 300 mark was my first goal! not my next goal is 250, but I know for sure that it wont be as quick or easy. right now I am riding about 1.5 to 2 miles a day on the arobic bike in the gym at work and working out with my sons high school baseball team. Keep up the good work and congratulations!!!
I went to a post op support group meeting last night at the weight loss centers office. After talking about our daily meals the nutrionist pointed out to some members that they were not taking in enough calories, carbs and proteins.I know that I was told this at my one month check up and was shocked. It is true, as your body heals after the surgery and you progress from liquids, to puree, to solid foods, you have to give it the fuel to burn the fat away without losing muscle mass. So drink the water all day and evening. Get in those calories (950-1000), the carbs, and the PROTEIN. You will do better if you follow those rules and you will loose.

That's the way that I feel....STUCK!!!! I was hoping it would be mostly off by this summer but I guess not! I drink water or flat diet soda with alot of ice. I eat alot of seafood and try to stay away from potatoes but that seems to be the easiest food for me to eat.
It is very hard to drink the water. And my Dr. only has me having 2 protein shakes a day. 22oz. Since I'm back to work, I move around more than I did at home.
Any other suggestions???
I had my surgery on 12/7/04. I'm currently 2 weeks into my SECOND plateau. The first one came 2 weeks after surgery, at -17 lbs., lasted a week and a half. I think it passed because I got my protein consumption to 60+ grams per day.
Now I've been at -25 lbs for 2 weeks. My water consmption wasn't what it should be and I've been trying built that up. Yesterday was the first day I reached 64 oz. My body was at this weight for many years, and I'm thinking it is very comfortable here.
My next hurdle is activity level. I've just about completed the post-op PT program that my surgeon sets up for his patients. I've learned many exercises that I can do at home, plus have been introduced to many of the machines that can be found at a gym. Now the problem is to do it often. I'm not quite the couch potato that I used to be, but I'm not too far off that couch, either.
And, I'm very frustrated at this plateau. In every diet program I've ever been involved in, I lose very slowly. Looks like this journey isn't going to be any different.
