wendys chili>>>>
Hi Ron!
I am a rny 12-20 also. I tried Wendy's chili one time and it went down so easy and was yummy too. My concern and astonishment was that the whole small serving about 8oz. did not make me full!!! I was asking myself, "Ok why is my small pouch not feeling full from all this chili"? Where you able to eat the whole serving? Kris
I had wendy's chili for the first time since surgery this week since now I can have anything low fat and low surger now. I got the small one and ate half of it just to be safe but I must admit I did not feel full I think I could have eaten the whole thing. I some how expected to feel much fuller. It sounds like alot of us are afraid and that we expected to be only able to eat the smallest amount at this point.
So I guess we need to especially me relax and trust that all will be well.

Hey Ronald baby... I keep hearing about wendy's chili. I never ate meat before surgery, so I haven't had it. Yes, the protein is very high because of the Kidney beans, ground beef and tomato sauce.
You can make that yourself, and save yourself if you have the time, but I am sure for a 'lunch' at work, it will work.
I eat turkey chili by Hormell, in a can, and I mix in my own ingrediences (at least I did before surgery). I also have had vegetarian chili, which is very high in protein, 19g, due to the veggies, beans and they even have soy, which is double high, 20g!
Whatever works for you... DO IT. I haven't had chili just yet, and will have it when I am 8 weeks out.
Talk later!

I am loving the chili! I just had some the other night for the first time and WHOA! loving it!
I was reading a post today on the main message board and someone said when they eat chili they feel like they are eating to much. Someone replied that chili is mushy so it does not fill you up as much as solid food. It is a thick soup almost. I say eat away, the calories are pretty good too!!

P.S. I sprinkle parmesan cheese in mine for some extra protein (and I love cheese..lol)
I did the same thing ... ate the whole serving! The next day I had awful diarhea! Apparently even when it is soft so it goes down easily, you might have problems digesting it. So I made my own chili, and ate just 4 ounces of it with some cheese and sour cream ... same reaction! I think it might be the beef -- although I had the same reaction to some turkey meatballs I ate. (Just 1 1/2 meatballs.)
On the other hand, I had no problems with carnitas (shredded pork) from Chipotle. Maybe ground meat is harder on some pouches? Although I chewed it up into a paste, I thought!
Oh well, something else to add to the freezer! (I'm using the small disposable storage cups that hold about 3 ounces. Very convenient! I'm hoping to use them for lunches, especially.)
