12/20 Team .... PLEASE JOIN ME
Hey surgery mates.... I am looking for all 12/20 surgery buddies, to share, laugh, cry and support each other. If you had surgery on 12/20, please post your response, and update here.
It would help each of us to know where we are, in terms of good and bad... to do, and not to do's... as well as diet, exercise, thoughts, recipies and most importantly, SUPPORT.
All are welcome, so anyone around this day may also join in.
Hoping everyone will participate!
Lets get this TEAM started!

Hey there! I am glad someone is organizing our team! I had my LAP done on 12/20, and have lost 23 lb. since surgery, 32 since December when I went on the pre-op diet. I would love to hear advice from those of you who are going through this, esp. in regards to new things to eat and exercise tips. Hope to hear from ya'll soon.

Hi, Vera!
I'm a 12/20'er too! What a ride it's been!!!
I guess I've been lucky because I haven't had too many problems. My biggest problem right now is that the bottom of my incision got infected and had to be lanced yesterday. That sucked. BUT, if that's my biggest issue, I'm in good shape.
I've lost 32.5 pounds from when I initially consulted my surgeon - 27.5 since surgery. I'm pretty happy with that. I haven't really begun exercising, but that's on my list for next week. I got so side tracked with my incisional problems, I haven't really bothered to exercise.
I have dumped twice and hope to never do that again. I have not thrown up and learned that I am lactose intolerant now. I can eat chicken, but have avoided other meats and am still on a pretty soft diet.
My husband is my angel and I would not know what to do without him. We've been married almost 21 years and I love him more now than I ever have before. He has taken such good care of me and I just can't tell you how much I appreciate him. (Yes. I tell him every single day!)
I'm adjusting to the new lifestyle and life is getting back to normal for me. I'd kill to have an nice cold coca cola over ice, but that's really the only thing I'm truly missing. Maybe some day I'll be able to have one again, but if not, that's the way it goes. Idon't really miss sweets and stuff, which is a big surprise because I love sweets!!
I think that's about it for now!! Can't wait to hear about other 20's!

Hi, I had surgery on the 22nd. I'm down 35 lbs since my first consult with the surgeon. But it seems like this last week or so has been a stall. I've joined curves and feel great. It is hard to get the water needs in. I'm trying desperately to just focus on drinking today. I have about 140 left to lose.
I am also a 12/20 member. I am not doing as well as you all but I am happy to say that I am 11 pounds thinner. I will be getting my first fill tomorrow.
I am eating about 1200 cal a day and work out 4 days a week, between the eliptical trainer (level 15 for 45 min) or treadmill for 2 -3 miles at a time.
I am a sssssssssllllllllllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwwww loser but I will get to goal.

Hello everyone. I had open RNY on 12/20 in Cleveland, Ohio. I have had no difficulties thus far. My starting weight was 286.5 and I am now 259.5, so I guess that is about 27 pounds even. It seems like alot on the scale, but my clothes feel no different to me!?!?
So, far, I am very glad I had the surgery. I was and still am having a bit of trouble with the diet, all the pureed stuff, I just cannot handle it! LOL.
I am attempting to stick with it as much as I can, I think half of my problem is I feel like I had nothing done at all. It is hard for me to break my lil habits when I feel like I didn't do anything. I get fuller faster, but physically, I never even got my pain meds filled when I left the hospital. I guess when I start losing a little more, maybe it will all set in. It is all just so new to me still.
I am very glad I found this thread, I hope to continue to chat with everyone!!
Keep up the GREAT GREAT work everyone!
