Any Dec. 20th updates?
Hi everyone,
I would like to know how you are all doing so far. I just went to my 2nd post op visit and I am now 33 lbs. down as of today. I feel really good and allowed to progress to normal food. I ate about 1 1/2 oz. of chicken and I chewed, chewed, chewed! I am hoping to not have to supplement my protein with drinks anymore, but it is hard to get in enough. I am going back to Curves on Monday. I have been walking 2 miles and .....don't faint....jogging 1/2 a mile!!!! I walk faster than I jog, but I had to do it. Just to jog again was a gift. I feel that this operation has given me my life back.
I Hope to hear from you all soon!
Soon to be smaller hugs! (( )) :jump

Grrrr. it's so unfair how quickly you guys lose weight!! (Although Fran is doing great!)
I'm down 28 pounds since 12/17 surgery. I'm not doing any exercise to speak of. My goal is to start when I reach 200 pounds, by actually using my Gold's membership I pay every month. (Feeling great, except for occasional naseau and even vomiting -- like the morning sickness I never had, I guess. )

Hi Jeff and Leslie!
I am so glad you are both doing so great!
It's true, men usually have an advantage as I have seen in all of my endless Weigh****chers and Nutri System attempts!!! But, Ms. Leslie, we are doing darn good too! (I know you were just joking and not really too envious.) I am happy for us and for Jeff. Poor Jeff was soooo sick. Jeff, I am glad you are feeling better.
Leslie, I got the morning sickness feeling too. It would happen about 20 minutes after I woke up. I couldn't do anything until I drank at least 1 oz. of protein and then I felt much better. I have switched my morning menu to water/Prilosec first, then after a little while some protein drink, then about an hour or so later some breakfast. I was never a breakfast eater so it is taking me some time to get it in.
Jeff, I think it is great that you are doing the indoor walking. We do not have Kroeger's here. My in-laws live in Virginia and everytime we go there we go to Kroeger's and my husband stocks up on Verner's Ginger Ale and the Kroeger's canned Iced Tea. I really don't drink these things myself, but he can't get enough of 'em.
Anyway, I will continue to keep you updated and thanks for sharing!
Soon to be skinnier hugs!
Fran
Congrats on all the weight loss. Had my surgery 12/20 and have lost about 28 pounds. I feel really great, but have not done a lot of exercising yet. I can't wait to be around 200. I'm going to celebrate by going to try on jeans. Haven't worn any in so long!! I have only thrown up 3 times so far...and that's only been when I've eaten meat and I didn't chew as well as I should have...and ate too fast too. I'm so looking forward to going out to eat at my favorite Mexican food place... that's another celebration when I reach 200!!
Well, good luck to all of you...and keep posted as to all the progress.

Hi, guys!
I had sugery on the 20th and have lost about 27 pounds. I haven't been walking/exercising yet, though. I've had a fairly easy time, although I get tired real easy.
I'm going for my first post-surgery visit to the doc today because I think I have something wrong with the bottom of my incision. It's about the size of a small marble and bright red. I'm afraid he will want to lance it. It's very sore and tender. I'm a wimp when it comes to pain, so I'm hoping we can avoid the lancing part!!!
This has been SO hard. I didn't realize how much I ate for emotional reasons. It's been worth it because even though I haven't lost as much weight as I had hoped, I have already begun reaping the benefits, such as breathing better, less sleep apnea, easier to move around and lots of things like that.
Would I do it again? I'm not to the point where I'd say yes, but I probably will be when it's all said and done.

Hey Joan... My name is Vera. I am a 12/20 Team member, and hope you will join me. I posted up a message on today, and ask anyone on or around 12/20, to join in on daily Postings, to update each other.
So far, I have lost 30lbs, and it tetters back and forth between 28-30. I am just starting my soft food diet, and walking on the tredmill, too. Just started both, and so far, so good. I still drink my protein shakes/drinks, and will continue to do so along with eating a high protein diet.
They say that the more protein we eat, along with the exercise, the weight in the 2nd month will start to come off.
What do you guys think?

It is so great to hear from everyone with the same surgery date! I told Vera in my reply to her post that I have lost 23 lb. as of today, with 32 total lb. since my pre-op visit in mid-Dec. I too, wi**** would come off faster. I've started walking on the treadmill (about a mile a day). What protein drinks are you all using? I like mine from GNC, but I would like some new varieties. I think that getting the protein in is very hard, and the same with the water. Since I teach 3 and 4 yr. olds, I am always on the go at work, and it is hard to stop and drink. Any suggestions would be welcome. Hope to talk to you guys again soon. Good luck!
