Every time I eat or drink I get this major gas in my new tummy. I can hear it roaring around in there and haven't ever been a burper so I can't burp it up. What works for you - besides burping?

M, I get the same thing and everytime I lay down and or change positions while I"m laying down, it comes out like you wouldn't believe it. Hope this helps. Loni

Is this really gas? I'm not sure, since it doesn't come out anywhere, for me. It doesn't hurt, but it is loud! I will try the different positions, though. For me, this only happens when I eat 'real' (non-soft) food.

While in the hospital after my surgery 12/06, I discovered that I swallowed too much air when I too a drink. I had to learn to put my lips in the water or whatever drink I choose and then open my mouth and sip. By doing this I really cut down on taking in air. When I went onto eating regular foods, I again realized that I swallowed air, so I don't do that anymore. Remember to chew chew and chew, take small bites and stop drinking 15 min before eating and wait 30 min after eating before you drink again. Good luck. Monica

I get this now when I'm eating. Not sure if it is coming from the pouch or from the remnant. Sometimes it feels like both. I never need to burp, though. I just figure either the pouch is busy working on what I'm putting in there or the stomach remnant is busy creating those gastric juices to meet up with the food down the pipe.
