I am 12 post-op and when I went to the Dr. I had lost about 20 but I also feel right now like I have slowed down. I am not getting discouraged but the that will defeat the perpose. I start the puree phase on Jan 17 which I can't wait for. I am on Full Liquids until then. I start soft foods on Jan 25. I hope that things get better for you. Barb

I'm 2.5 wks post op and the weight loss has come to a screaming halt, too. But it is just a temporary thing. We're only getting in 400 -600 cals a day, our bodies are going into hibernation mode to preserve energy, but that is just temporary!! The way it works is, the number of calories burned deducted from the number of calories taken = huge weight loss!!!!! So just be patient. Drink your liquids like I'm fighting to do. But, lets keep our spirits up. We have a whole bright future to look forward to! Karen

IT IS TYPICAL TO HIT A PLATOOOOOO A FEW WEEKS OUT OF SURGERY AS YOUR BODY CATCHES UP... THAT IS WHY THEY TELL YOU NOT TO WEIGH EVERYDAY... SO YOU DON'T GET UPSET WITH THE NUMBERS... MOST LIKELY YOU ARE STILL LOSING INCHES AS YOUR BODY READJUSTS AND THEN YOU WILL DROP MORE POUNDS!! GOOD LUCK BONBON

Whew!!! I am going through the same thing I am 4 weeks out and lost 22 # and then it went to a screeching halt!!! I have had some problems keeping some of the firmer foods down and I struggle past 40oz. of water most days. I am between 300 and 600 cals a day and I know in my heart if this is what is going in and just breathig uses more cals that that ... I will lose ###'s but I also know my inches are moving out the door even as the scale does not move. So patience! UGH!! I am doing my best to keep the protein up as high as I can..usually around 40 and pressing for more. I am so happy I have had WLS!!! Even when "Picky Pouch" voices an opinion and tosses what I thought was a good idea for a meal...i.e. shrimp yum..nope! but maybe next week. Sharon in very snowy Sparks, NV...I have 3 1/2 feet in my yard!
