My surgery was Dec. 21. No problems except having difficult bowel movements. Thought I was going to stroke out today trying to have one. Finally had the b.m.. I took some bene-fiber(less than a full dose) to try to help later movements. Did I mess up?

Candy, You should probably check and see what your surgeon's office recommends. I was given colase when I left the hospital. They told me it is not uncommon to be constipated when taking pain medicine. I went to the nutritionist this week and told her I was having a problem and she highly recommended bene-fiber - so you are probably ok. Mary

Hello, I had surgery Dec 20th and I also use bene-fiber for b.m's. I think that you should be okay. Good Luck!

Dear Candy, I was not given anything for B.M. and I wish I had been. I was having trouble yesterday (X4 days) and I called my doctors office and they said I could have any OTC product now that I am 4 weeks post-op. I took Correctol and got relief. Goodness, I'm gonna watch out for that in the future better. Melody AKA: red-sore-butt

I was told to use plain ole Milk Of Magnesia!! It works trust me!! It doesn't taste the best but it does work.

My nutritionist that works with my surgeon told me to take Benefiber, when I asked her what to do about BM.
