Bon Bon, That sounds scary. I'm glad that you came through everything ok. I hope you regain your strength soon. I have been careful about lifting things, but what are you going to do if you see somebody falling? Your instinct is to reach out and help them. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing from here. Mary

Hi Bon-Bon, I was wondering what was going on. I thought you went back to work. I am glad that you are at home and doing fine. Just take it easy. Well, last week I only went to work one night because I was in to much pain still. I am doing a little better this week not much pain. Now I am having problems keeping food or liquids down. I can drink water only. I have a Dr's appt. today will keep you informed. Hope you feel better soon.

So sad that you had a set back. Loosing blood is never good, it is the weight you want to loose women. Glad the doctors were able to bring your count up. I am doing very well. I came back to work yesterday and outside of being very tired by quitting time I did wonderfully. I can eat almost anything now. I tried some bacon and will not revisit that for a while. Just finished 3oz tuna with lite Hellmans mayo for lunch. Yummy and filling. I am drinking 64 oz water, got a great container that lets me see the ounces sipping by. I also found a fantastic protein drink at my Whole Foods Market. It is called Jay Robb's Whey protein and comes in vanilla and chocolate. It dissolves smooth and it tastes good. I have two protein drinks per day, with skim milk=34 grm protein, with water=24 grms. I have very little post op pain. When I went to see my surgeon, Dr.Faillo I asked him why his surgery did not hurt like my other 6 abdominal surgeries and he said his technique calls for very tiny instruments that do not invade the muscles and tissues drastically. I kissed his hands cause I could not believe how good I felt even 3 days post op. I have lost 31 lbs and I am feeling fine. My painfull arthritic knees still hurt but I am off all pain meds and the pain is getting less with each pound lost. I am under 300 pounds for the first time in 2 years and I am so thankful that I chose this journey to help me get healthy. Continued good luck and days of loosing. Monica

Bon Bon, I am sorry to hear that you were having problems. I hope everything is well now. I am back to work. This week starts my chopped food stage. I am paranoid to eat. I basically live on cottage cheese, yougurt, apple sauce and chili. I drink only water, ocassionally iced tea. I can't stand sweeteners, they taste 10 times sweeter than sugar to me. I lost 26 pounds. Wi**** was more, but I feel so much lighter, it's amazing. Good luck to you. Stay well.

Hello Everyone, I know that I already post, but I have some good news. I went to the docter today and he gave me a clean bill of health. I have lost 38 lbs. My pain is gone away. Thank-you Jesus!! He said that I might have pullled a staple when I tried to pick up my son while he was sitting in the chair. As for as not keeping anything thing down is not bad. I just have to keep trying different things. He told me I could try anything soft. Just chew-chew-chew-chew-chew(ha-ha). I am keeping liquids down. Anyway, good-luck to all the 6'ers. I will go back to work tonight.

Hi Bon Bon! Glad to hear you're ok! How scary!! I was back in the hospital myself, on 1/2/05-1/4/05. I got a complication post op called c.diff. - not related to the actual RNY, but from the antibiotics they gave me during surgery. I got dehydrated and needed 8 bags of fluids to get my "mojo" back. I'm tired, and trying to rest, and now am on Vancomyacin AND Flagy for the c.diff. We want to kick this bug out of me!! Plus side - my deductible is done now for 2005 plus side - I've lost a total of 35lbs! Megan 12/6/04 - Lap RNY 292/257/150
