Good Morning MB family, I just wanted to share with you all that I am now 18 days post op and am down 21 pounds so far. Yahoooooooo Things are getting much easier to handle, I finally got my protein shakes figured out so I can get them in and get my protein in for the day, I'm actually getting in a little more than the Dr. recommends, not much but a little. Well the vitamins seem to be a problem for me still but I'm working really hard at staying on top of them. I still gag and feel like I'm going to throw up when I chew them but I hope that will get better with time. I'm exercising and feeling pretty good about that. I try every day to do a little bit better than the day before. My incision is finally healing nicely, thank God. The Dr. put me on an antibiotic for the incision problems and it really seems to be helping. I also just wanted to thank you all for your support during this time, I don't know what I would have done without you all. I hope you all have a Happy New Year and all of our dreams come true for 2005. Love you all, Loni

That's great, Loni! As for the vitamins, I don't know what kind they recommended to you. We were told Fred Flintstone Complete chewable, 2 a day. I could not stand to chew them but sucking them wasn't nearly as bad. Unjury is my protein shake of choice so far. Today put 1 scoop of Unjury, 2 frozen sf strawberries and 1 cup of low fat milk and it was good! I go to nutritionist/surgeon for my one week checkup tomorrow. I think I've lost 13 pounds by my home scales and will be anxious to see by their more elaborate scales. It will be good to get rid of my drain. Keep up the good work, Loni! Barbara

Barbara, Thank you so much for the encouragement, it helps so much. Right now I'm on the Building Blocks for vitamins, it's the kind the Dr's office sells and they are huge. I really can't wait to be able to move on to a smaller pill that I can take, I think at this point Flintstones would be better. I've heard alot about the Unjury, I think I'm going to get some ordered, and the shake you told me about sounds yummy. Good luck at the surgeons tomorrow and I know you will love having that drain out. Hugs, Loni

Hey there, congratulations!!! I'm 13 days out and think I've lost 24 lbs since surgery. But man. It is at a screeching halt. I can't get my protein in! Tell me what you've figured out, what are you doing? How can you swallow this stuff?? Keep up the great work! I'm jealous! Karen

Hi Karen, I've been making my shakes with 1 cup of Carb countdown milk and 1 cup skim milk to 2 scoops of protein and I make it the night before so it has time to kind of mellow out with the taste. Hey 24 lbs. in 13 days is awesome, keep up the good work. Loni
