Dec 7th people out there need an update.
Hello, I had surgery on Dec. 7th with Dr. Kerlakian in Cincinnati Ohio.
I have lost 20 lbs. Is anyone off the purarred stage yet?? I haven't gone to the doctor yet because of the big snow storm here in Cincinnati and my surgern is now on vacation this week so I can't see him till Monday. I have tollerated everything I have eaten.
Question #2
When can we take whole pills?
Hi Sharon, I too had surgery on Dec 7. I had an adjustible lap band in Hawaii from Dr. Lapschies. I thought the surgery went very well. I was surprised at how little pain I had. My only problem was the pain medication they fed me on the way out of the hospital. I got very nauseous from the tylenol with codeine and the Oxycotin. After that was out of my system I was fine. I was on clear liquids for 10 days. Towards the end I let a noodle or 2 go down. On Dec. 17 I was cleared to eat protein. So I have been living on small amounts of ham, chicken, beef, cheese, shrimp, tuna and eggs. I can also eat tofu and yogurt, but I don't like either one. The thing I miss most is the diet coke I used to live on. Once I took the tiniest sip of what I thought was flat soda, and the results were bad. I wll not try that again for a long time. My latest problems are from the vitamins. On Dec. 17 I was told to take Bariatric vitamins, and 1 week later I was so very constipated! It reminds me of prenatal vitamins which I also had problems with. It's the iron, and my body can't handle it. Christmas Eve we had a huge party at my house and being around the food was tough. I took little bites of all the protein foods. I begged everyone to take all of the food home, especially anything that resembled chocolate. Oh yea, when I feel the urge for somehting sweet, I eat a sugar free fudgsicle and it cheers me up. I haven't weighed myself lately, but I have lost approximately 20 lbs. I have been on vacation, but when I go back to work I plan to do a lot of walking. I also plan to join Curves which a few women in our support group swear by. So good luck to you, a fellow Dec 7th surgery, Aloha Paula Aurio
