No matter what I do with arranging pillows etc... I can't sleep on my side. Not due to my incisions but due to my insides feel like they fall to the side or are being all twisted and it is very uncomfortable. Does this go away? I am SICK of sleeping on my back!

I had this problem too. I put two feather pillows under my belly for support...it helped. I am three weeks out and can sleep on my side with one pillow. It does get better.

Hi Cynthia I'm having the same trouble...I've always slept on my sides and when I do now, I feel all this pressure. But I tried for alittle bit last night and it was better. I think we just have to give it time. Take care Joanie

Have you tried sleeping with your binder on? I find that it helps my stomach to feel like it's being held in place... Jen

My surgeon put a binder on me once she completed the surgery. Its like a big piece of elastic wrapped around me that runs from just under my breasts to my hips. I had it on the entire time in the hospital and now that I'm home it's my choice on whether I continue to wear it. I have found that it makes my sleep blissfully painfree. Ask your local medical supply place if they have one? They're used in plastic surgery as well, so they're not uncommon. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! Good luck! Jen

I with Trish, I just prop pillows under my belly so it holds it up even with the rest of me

I to have had that problem too. I am a month and three days out and now I can sleep only on my right side and my back. I to am ssooo sick of sleeping on my back as well. But it does gets better with time. I have tried to sleep on my left side but after two to three min. I start to get some pain close to where the cut was. Why? I really could not tell you. I to get that felling like all of my insides are moving around when I lie down and turn to my side. But I know with time, it will get better.

Cynthia, I'm so sorry that you are having a tough time sleeping. I wasn't able to sleep on my stomach till just a couple of nights ago. I also have to sleep with my binder on or my insides feel like they are going all over the place and all twisted up inside. I also have a little pillow that I hold on my stomach while I'm turning over and that help me. Hope that helps. Oh and if your Dr. didn't give you a binder I would look around and try and find one, it makes alot of difference to me. Hope things get better for you. Loni
