3 days till surgery :angst:
Hi Yvette,
May God give your surgeon, nurses and anyone in the operating room with you the skill, knowledge and guidance to give you a great surgery , free of any complications. And give you peace and His healing touch. Yvette, I know that losing your husband had to be a very hard thing to go through to say the least. I believe if God Brings us to it, then He will bring us through it. I try to keep that in mind to calm me. This surgery can be a start to a whole new chapter in our life and I hope that we all can find new and exciting things in the coming year and that our life only becomes happier and healthier as the days go by. God Bless you. NannaS
HI NANNA,
I KNOW THAT EVERYTHING YOU'RE SAYING IS TRUE AND I HAVE BEEN PRAYING ON THIS SITUATION, BUT I STILL FEEL THE FEAR THAT SOMETHING IS GOING TO GO WRONG. THERE IS NO TURNING BACK NOW, BUT I REALLY WANT TO CALL THIS OFF JUST BECAUSE I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND A POSITIVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS WHOLE THING. I HAVE BEEN TRYING ALL DAY TO THINK THIS THROUGH AND I STILL KEEP COMING UP WITH NOTHING BUT FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN. I REALLY THOUGHT BY THIS TIME THIS FEELING WOULD HAVE PASSED AND I WOULD BE FEELING BETTER, BUT I'M NOT. IF I'M NOT FEELING BETTER ON MONDAY MORNING I'M AFRAID I'M GOING TO HAVE TO CALL THIS OFF. THE FEAR IS STRONGER THAN MY DESIRE TO GO THROUGH WITH THIS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ENCOURAGING WORDS AND I HOPE THAT I CAN COME TO GRIPS WITH THIS BEFORE 6:30AM ON MONDAY. TAKE CARE AND BE BLESSED.
YVETTE

Hi Nanna. Congratulations on your decision to have WLS. I just had mine on the 16th. I totally agree with you.. if you have God on your side there is nothing to fear. In fact, just before surgery I asked Jesus Christ to come back into my life. I felt that I was falling away and prayed for him to come back.
My surgery lasted 45 minutes and I was released from the hospital the next day. Just fine. Other than the dreaded left side pain. I have had no other problems. In Fact the left sided pain is now all but none existant anymore!!! YAY.
Anyway, you are in my thoughts and my prayers. My God be with you.
Merry Christmas,
Kathy

Hi Kathy,
I am so glad for you for the surgery and more so for giving your Life back to Christ. That is the one thing I'm sure of in this life: Without Jesus we have no life , but with Him we have eternal life. He brought you through this and you have done wonderfully. I'm praising Him right along with you! May your New Year and New Life be filled with many blessings and joys. NannaS

I just want to wish all of you the very best! I was just thinking about this last year of my life---I WAS SO TERRIFIED---and I prayed and left it in God's great hands and prayed for my surgeon to have steady hands. And guess what? Not one single complication! 11 months post op--never thrown up one single time, rarely get dumping unless I over eat or eat sugar. It's not all easy but it is the BEST thing I ever did for myself and I would do it again in a heart beat! Not one single regret! If I could just share one little secret of advice that somebody wonderful shared with me before my surgery---before you let them put you to sleep---ask your surgeon to keep a pillow under your knees during surgery. This will keep you from waking up to a horrible back ache that lasts for days. I had my surgeon do this (I have old back injuries from a car accident) and I was the only one walking around the hospital not complaining about my back aching. After your surgery, no matter how bad it hurts, get up walking as much as you can! Even if you don't want to---DO IT! I was walking 3 to 4 miles after my first week home from the hospital. And do your breathing treatments every half hour if possible! You do this and you will be feeling better a lot faster! I want you to all know that you can email me anytime if you have any questions or just need reassurance! This is a great tool! Best of Luck to you all with the beginning of your "losing" life!
