THINNER
I am feeling really great, People can tell the difference. I have lost right at 22 lbs, My date was the 7 of Dec, I go a day at a time, One day might be down, then I am on top of the world the next, Because food was my best friend, Now I have lost the best friend and I find there are more to life than eating.
I tell you, the first week, I was licking the spoons, I was very unhappy, My first weeks visit Dr. Webb told me to try different foods, and see how they feel, I had chicken noodle soup, and a small amount of a grill cheese sandwich for supper tonight, I am more happy now I am tring different foods, But very caustiouly, It feels like a ball in my stomach when I try new things, How much did you weigh before surgery? If you don't mind me asking. I started out at 230, The Doc. said he used more of my small intestine than he would of use of someone that weight 250/ 270 lbs. he said he did that to limit my wt. loss, But I have found out I don't have to much of the dumping, I had a mint candy tonight, It did not bother me, I had taken a few drinks of coke with no problem. Every one will be different.
I noticed under my breast and waist and ankles then my neck, I had a large stomach., that will be the last to go, and the back side.
Hi Charlene, I had an adjustible lap band on Dec. 7. In Sept. I weighed 242, but lost 10 lb. from taking an aerobics class for the first time in my life. I was amazed that only 2 hours a week could make such a difference. I was surprised at how little pain I had after the surgery. I was put on clear liquids for 10 days, but cheated a little with fudgsicles. Since last Friday I am on protein whi*****ludes deli ham, turkey, beef, chicken, shrimp, tuna and eggs. I really like the diet, but I am careful to eat slowly. You mentioned coke. I was a regular diet cokaholic before the surgery. The other night I took a little sip which I thought was flat. Wow, I felt like a balloon exploded in my chest. I won't trying that again for a while. Last Friday I weighed in at 218 lb., which is 14 pounds in 10 days. I was very happy. On Monday, after xmas, I am going to join Curves. 2 women in my support group have done wonders working out there. I will go back into aerobics in February when it starts again. So far I am very happy that I had this surgery. Of course, the bills aren't all in yet. The hospital bill came and my one night was $19,000. Hopefully, my share won't be too much after the insurance kicks off. Well, my goal is to get and stay healthy in order to avoid the many problems associated with obesity. I already have very high blood pressure.
Well, stay in there. Aloha, Paula
