We were told in the nutritional class to go off caffiene before surgery because it will cause headaches. What were you told regarding caffiene? Also, how long off work following lap wls? I don't have a physical job. My date is Monday, Dec 27th. Barbara Griffin

Barbara, I wasn't told to go off caffeine before the surgery, but I did have to do clear liquids two days before surgery, so in essence I had no caffeine. Some people do get withdrawal headaches. Since you have a week, you might want to start weaning yourself off caffeine. I have to double check with my nutritionist, but I think I was told no caffeine for three weeks after surgery. My surgery date was 12/9 and the doctor gave my employer a letter stating that I could return to work on 1/10. I also have a sedentary job so I am hoping I can get released to work sooner when I have my follow-up visit on 12/30. Mary

Hey Barbara . My surgery is the 27th also and in all my paper work and the pre-op visits they told me to get of caffienes. I've been off them.I'm having lap band and my job is behind a desk and I'm planning to come back on the 3rd.
