I had my surg 12/07/04 @ 10:30am. I dont remember much from the pre-op to the or. I cant remember the recovery room at all. I woke up in my room and the only pain I felt was my back from laying on it so long. I was in and out of conscienceness all day I would wake up and say off the wall stuff and then fall back asleep, my friends and family told me some of the stuff I did and said and it was pretty funny! The next day when they came to get me for my Barium swallow, I was too excited I couldnt wait to get some h2O! never thought I would love it so much! I passed both tests and my first drink of water was absolutley the most wonderful thing in the entire world! I also had apple juice and a sugar free popsicle and they were extremely tasty also! My staple sites are fine they do not hurt, my drain stinks, I wont lie its painful. Its the only thing that is painful. If we could do without the drain this surgery would be a "walk in the park" literally! You have to remember to get up and walk as much as u can, and to do your breathing exercises. The best thing was my shower in the morning it perked me up and made me feel alot better. I was discharged from the hosp 12/09/04 @ 12:30pm

Isn't it funny how you appreciate the little things in life after you're deprived of them LOL? My sinuses drained all night after my surgery and I was so nauseated, I begged for a small taste of water to clear my throat. When they finally removed my IV and gave me something to drink it was heaven!
