I do have wine about once a month so can we ever have an alcoholic beverage after the surgery and if so how long after?

I've heard 6 months, but I'd ask your dr if you're concerned. I also asked my surgeon if you can get drunk faster because your stomach's smaller, etc., and he said nope, he said that just because you're stomach is smaller doesn't mean anything because you've got to remember that it doesn't restrict liquids, it still goes right through you. He said he knows some people who could out drink him before surgery and can still do it now. I know a lot of people who have gone out drinking after about a month, just casual, nothing crazy, and they're fine and living 18 months later. As long as you don't drink the whole bottle (which I know isn't what you meant) and just have a little (which I'm sure you're implying), I think you'll be fine

my surgeon says one year because it can be dangerous. I would check with your doc. Tink
