Will this really work?
Hi everyone!....I'm worried that this surgery will not get me to my goal. Thirteen years ago I had a simple gastric band and I never lost ALL my weight. I must of had 50 pounds more to loose. While I lost 100 pounds, I have gained 50 pounds back. I am worried that I will be the one that never gets to goal.
I hope that everyone is successful and their surgery goes smoothly.
We are in this together.
God Bless everyone!
Betty
I have not had my surgery yet I'm scheduled for 12-14 however I have been attending a support group my doctor strongly recomends I am very encouraged by the positive results A couple rules I have committed to are no drinking with meals or after for 30 minutes, always eat breakfast within 90 minutes of getting up and excersize, exercise excersize.
Betty,
This was a topic discussed today at my support group, where a couple of people still wanted to take off anywhere from 10-50 additional pounds, but their bodies weren't cooperating. They both look fabulous! They have resolved that this is perhaps where they will be the healthiest. One made the comment, it is only a number.
I know we all get tied up in the numbers game on the scale, but it will also be important to look at the measuring tape, especially if we hit a plateau. Will I remember this when I hit one, I don't know!
My expectations aren't terribly high, I'd be happy even with 100 pounds off, rather than 175. The standard goal for me is 125. As I lose weight they may find that my goal will get lower because my bone structure is much finer than most people think. I was just under 125 when I graduated from high school.
One of the things I think is important to eliminate from our vocabulary is the word "only" as in I only lost xxx pounds.
Someone please remind me of this post should I forget it in the future?
