My Journey....
My surgery is also on December 6th in Springfield, Massachusetts. I am very excited that the date is nearing and that I can get on with my life and be freed from the bondage of my fat body. I am 57 years old and suffer from many co-morbidities. Currently my arthritic knees are causing me great pain and inmobility. I have wanted this surgery since 2001, but until this past Spring, my family was against it. After seeing my continued struggle to loose weight and fail again, I now have their support, totally. I wish you a great trip and will keep you Trish in my thoughts as we both journey on to a new world, healthier, happier, and grabbing at life with both fists.
Monica
Trish and Monica, I wish you both the best of luck, and I will be praying for you both on your day. I will be following you on the day afterward.
Monica, I am right there with you! Your post mirrors my own situation, almost to a "T." I had to retire from my job back in 97 due to my arthritic knees disabling me from performing my functions. I was unable to get out and walk and exercise like I had always loved to do. I did, however, battle with obesity all of my adult life before then, but after my knees went out, the weight piled on with a vengeance! I have gained over 100 pounds since I retired! I am now 63 years old and the age factor really plays on my mind, as far as the WLS. But I have heard from some that are even older than me that have faired well with it, so that helps.
God bless you both!
