POST-OP shopping list
Hey everybody in December!
I am from the November group and thought I'd share this post. I gathered it from some of teh October surgery posts and added some of my own. Enjoy!
I am making up a "menu" for my husband to shop with (since he will do the grocery shopping post-op), so he will know what I can have. Here is what I came up with:
crystal light
herbal teas
sf gelatin
diet (non carbonated ) fruit drinks (Twister etc)
sf kool-aide
broths
non caloric fruit flavored waters
country time diet lemonade
decaffeinated teas
propel water
sugar free ice pops
diet snapple
apple/cranberry juice
any broth based soup (strained)
yougurt (no sugar added smooth only )
sf pudding
sf jello
soft cheese (the firmer has more fat )
eggs
instant mashed potatoes
baby foods (stage 1 or 2
cream of wheat
plain oatmeal w/ splenda
malt-o-meal
grits
cocoa wheats
farina
strained cream soups
unsweetened apple sauce
sf custard
egg beaters w/ cheese melted on top
cottage cheese
Another member on the October message boards suggested the following:
1) Bean with Bacon condensed soup: I add a can of skim milk (no****er), then stick it in the blender to break up as much of the beans as possible (to beef up the protein), then strain it and eat it that way.
2) Egg Drop Soup (at home I think you just boil chicken broth and crack in an egg and stir)
Any more ideas please add to the list!
PS You'd think they'd come up with a little smiley guy to add that is actually eating! They have one barfing....
