Howdy All!!!
Yes, I know... I have been away for way too long. I actually have a friend here in FL who had WLS about 7 months ago and I was telling her about OH.com. I was trying to get my Blackberry to bring up the website while at a hockey game last night, but the reception in the arena really sux!
I hope everyone is doing well! I'm still in Florida, and still not really all that happy about it. I am in my own house now, right next door to my mother, which gives me my own place, but still gives me the convenience of having my mom right next door to be nearby .
I'm in another crappy job. Although it might not be for much longer. I have been out on medical leave for 6 weeks, Monday starts week 7 for me, and on Thursday I have surgery on my left kidney. No stones this time, but a hematoma (again) and even after draining it, it is already full again with fluid. It has been pretty painful. And here after nearly 3 years of being hospital-free, Actually this month would have made it 3 years for me, I thought I was doing pretty good. Ooops, I forgot, m back surgery was about 1 1/2 years ago. Anyway, the Dr has no idea whats going on in there, and he has no idea what he will find, so he has add to my surgery consent, a possibility that he may have to remove my kidney depending on what he finds when he gets in there to see.
My mom found out about 9 weeks ago that she had Colon Cancer. 4 weeks ago she had surgery to remove the tumor. Luckily she was the luckiest woman on earth. It had no spread anywhere else. None of the 15 lymph nodes tested postive, it had not spread anywhere else, and the CEA blood work that checks for cancer cells in the blood also came back normal as well. Sit it doesn't look like she will have to have any chemo or radiation therapy. How wonderful is that!!! She was only in the hospital for 1 week, has been home for 3 weeks and is just about back to her normal self. She does tire out a little quicker than before surey, but she is doing magnificantly.
My boys are also doing alright. Nick, the youngest is now in the 7th grade. He is a straight A student. We have had one hospitalization since school started, but he is really doing well for the most part. If the behavior ed kids... or bullys as they should be called, woud just back off and leave him alone, he'd do even better than what he is, My oldest Josh has finally graduated high school. When the rest of his class graduated back in June, he was 1/2 credit she of graduating, but they let him waalk with the class, and he did an online elective. It was a constant battle to get him to complete it, but he finally finished it up and we now have his high school diploma. It was really frustrating because over this past summer he started his 3rd yeard of college, but was that one little 1/2 credit elective shy for the diploma. Josh has really also started regressing alot in his Asperger's and Schizophrenia. It doesn't look like he will ever get to move out on his own or be able to hold down a job to support himself, It's very frustrating for me that at 18 yrs old that I have to wash his hair and shave him several times a week. And he has started this Nocturnal Eating thing that is really strange. If it was just some small snack I could see, but in a 2-3 week period, I found the remnants of enough empty wrappers to fill a large kitchen garbage bag. As an idea, someof the things.... 5 - 1 lb pkgs of ham, 1 - 5 lb bag of sugar, 5 - 6 pk bags of bagels, 2 boxes of Club crackers, 4 bags of fresh grapes, 2 bgs of shredded cheese, 2 bags of croutons, 4 bananas, a small pkg of sliced cheese, a raw pkg of turkey bacon. Just all kinds of strange stuff. I've spoken to the Dr, and we see her tomorrow. We are seeing how removing some of the meds, one at a tines will do,
Like I have said in the past.... Some days it's so not fun being me!!! Atleast most days are good ones!!! Hope this finds everyone doing well... I'm going to take my laptop to the hospital with, and hopefully I can get internet access, I week with no access with just aboit do me in
