Having a really hard time lately

HI all,
I haven't posted in a long time.  I had my surgery 12/16/04.  The first few years were great. I lost weight, began dating, shopped and shopped.  I had abdominalplasty and got rid of 10 lbs of belly along with dual hernia repair.

I went from 160 to 185 during the last few years and up to 199 just after Christmas. I tried the 5 day pouch test  last summer and first lost 8 lbs.
Weight began piling on during the holidays.  I did liquids only for a week and went from 199 to 185.  That was on 500 calories a day and 100 grams of protien. I began eating protien only and gained right away.

I didn't notice ANY tightening with my pouch.  I calculated my caloric intake and it's around 600 to 900.
I moved shortly after my surgery and have not seen a bariatric surgeon since. My insurance wouldn't allow it and my primary care doctors felt I had no need to see them.

I got married almost a year ago.  I've been cooking what my husband likes and not the way I used to. He doesn't like certain things.

I have new insurance and will have my first visit with my new primary care doctor.

All this has just gotten me down. I was supposed to have my legs done, but my iron levels were too low and I went on my husband's insurance after we got married.  It was Kaiser and now we have a PPO.

I see they changed OH again

Your not alone. I went from size 10/12 to 14.

I would rather be a 14 unless a size 22.

Hang in there

You are not alone.  I went from 170lbs to 195lbs in a matter of 6-8 months and then I got pregnant.  My weight is piling on fast with this pregnancy.  I am hoping to lose it and then some.

Once I have my baby, I am going back to my nutritionist to get back on the ball, maybe you should start there.

Hang in there.

Margie,
Seems alot of us have gained some, We are now over 4 yrs post-op and man i turned to drinking  for awhile and it really put on the weight for me. I had lost 220lbs then gained 50lbs  then lost 20 then got pregnant, just had my baby 2 days ago so now I too am trying to get back on track and take care of myself! But thankful I'm not over 400 lbs anymore. I'm not going to give up and let  my setback hold me back. I thought about joining weigh****chers just for local support and keep me motivated and accountable..
Good luck to you!

I feel you! I got down to a size 8 after surgery. I was pregnant two years straight and now have a 2 and 1 yr old. I am stuck. I wear a tight 14 and want that size 8 back, but just not getting anything. I started working out everyday and even running for 10 minutes and lost nothing! After 1 1/2 months of this I gave up, it is frustrating to feel like I am in my old body that just refuses to lose weight. Hugs you are not alone!

Michelle,
I too got down to a size 8 and now a size 12.... seems like I am slowly gaining.  Might be the glass of wine I have a night but also might be the carbs.
I haven't been to the doc in 2 yrs- guess I need to go.
I am mad at myself beause I took it so seriously at first attending all the support groups and now this is the 1st time I have logged on in FOREVER.
Good Luck hope something works for you!

I can totally relate.  I was Very successful and did resistance training until the dreaded KATRINA.  Began drinking daily etc.  Just got convicted to start over as if I just had the procedure.  Found my old notebook and I started back on the exact routine I did starting in January 2005.  It is a miracle I found that notebook since we did flood etc.  I hope i see some improvement.  Just losing the empty calories from wine shoudl help.

I had to get to a real low point and then kick myself in the a$$.

I know how you feel and just wanted to offer some encouragement.  I also live in a city that loves to eat and drink way too much.....UUUGGGH
