Happy Thanksgiving Everyone
Hello Donna. Happy Thanksgiving to you and the rest of the Dec 04 group. Wow it has been almost 3 years for us.
My journey has been very good. I have lost 181 lbs, weighing in at 149 these past few days. I am thankful that I made the decision to have this surgery. I PS last Sept 06. Since then I have lost an additional 41 lbs, 12 from the skin removed during my PS.
I know that your journey has not been so wonderful. How are you doing now?
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season.
Hi Monica,
I'm so happy your doing so well on your WLS. My husbands insurance won't cover PL
I'm not doing so well myself. For a while now I have being fighting throwing up and having problems with bowl movements. I just figured it was because I ate to fast, ate to much. My husband was always saying. YOUR EATING TO FAST, SLOW DOWN!!
I started getting so tired and could not do my night job anymore so I gave that up and found myself laying in bed with zero strength and on the toilet unable to have a bowl movement. My husband told me I was not getting up and walking enough. MEN!!
One Sunday my husband drug me out of the house, told me I needed some fresh air and that's when he noticed my skin and eyes where all yellow.
I ended up in the hospital with Jaundice. What they found out is that I had gall stones and my bile duct in my gall bladder was blocked which caused my liver to take over and working 100% for my gall bladder which might have caused liver damage. My intestines filled with this this bile and caused a massive infection through out my body.
They could not remove my gall bladder until they flushed my body from all that infection as they felt it would have went throughout my whole body and killed me plus they said my liver might not be able to function, taking over for my gall bladder and my liver my stop working. The Doctor told me I was to sick to handle any kind of operation and if I had waited another day I might be dead.
They had to put a drain bag into my gall bladder and I'm still carrying that darn bag around since the end of October.
I go on December 3rd and see the gall bladder Doctor and he'll make the decision if the tube stays or comes out.
Then on December 6th I go see my surgeon. All three Doctors, my PCP, gall bladder Dr. and Surgeon will make the decision what to do next. They are worried that my liver is not functioning properly anymore and that I might need a liver transplant but I think they plan on doing a liver Biopsy.
I'm thinking on the positive side with the liver transplant
Say a prayer for me that I'll kick all this in the butt.
Hugs Donna
Hi Mary!!
It's been a long time since we have spoken.
Thanks for the prayers as I need every single one I can get right now.
I need to get a tooth pulled but must get my blood work done first as my PCP said my blood platelets were low on the last blood work. For right now I eat on one side of my mouth.
You take care and I'll keep in touch with everyone.
Love Donna
