Home from the hospital....

Well, it has been a long 4 days! Thursday I took the children to 6 Flags for homeschool day and ended up in severe pain after eating. Anyway, I thought it was just me having some dumping it kept on and I had to tell the children we had to leave. Came home and stayed in pain! By the time Paul came home I was in tears and had a call into my doctor. The doctor called about 5 minutes after Paul walked in and told me to get straight to the hospital. We left immediately. Got to Doctor's hospital and was in a room in about 30 minutes. Once in there they started running all sorts of tests and put a nasty NG tube in me. After they did the CAT scan they found a blockage in my intestines as well as 2 hernias and a major kink. They admitted me to the hospital and ran more tests... Friday I went into surgery to repair everything. Last night they released me. I am very very sore, but will live. lol I go back on Thursday for my followup. No food for a week... straight clear liquids.. then another week of liquids... then another 1 to 2 weeks of soft foods. Hmmm this sounds real familiar! ugghh Guess I am going to lose some more weight? hehehe At least something good will come of this! Love you all and thank you all for your prayers.. Kathy

Wow, I had all my complications in the first 6 months. I did not know we could have them this far out. Just goes to show me, I need to take care myself and pay attention to my body. I'm glad you are feeling better and got to the hospital fast. Feel better and rest up. Elizabeth

Gosh... By now your troubles should be just a faded memory... I have been gone a long time. Been about a year and a half, but I went thru the same type stuff... twice for me last year... all in a months time. 2 hernia surgeries, both that caused small bowel obstructions. Heck of a way to lose more weight, but I know for me, even with the troubles I encountered aftre WLS, I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Hope by now your back to your normal self. Susan
