Hello all
Hi Brenda,
You are definitely NOT alone. I am a little over 2 yrs post op and my weight fluctuates from 5 to 6 pounds over my ideal weight. I set an acceptable weight range for myself. Now I like to stay between 150 and 155. I'd like to weigh about 10 pounds less but for my frame, I'd look too sick. I lost over 100 pounds in my first year. It's the maintaining that takes so much hard work. I constantly eat (healthy foods, raw or steamed veggies, fresh fruits, lots of meat and few carbs) so I guess that keeps the metabolism burning. I cannot always commit to the exercise like I'd like to. I'd probably lose so much more if I could. This is the hard part now. This is the part that takes so much more hard work. It's not my eating habits that are bad. It's the old habits that are hard to break even after 2 years. Some people start to get lax and their old habits of snacking, eating in front of the t.v., emotional eating, over eating and eating out of boredom, sedentary lifestyle, head hunger, and etc...start to (sub)consciously get out of hand. Every week, I set short term goals to lose 2 or 3 pounds, exercise 30 minutes, etc... to keep my weight in check and it works. I never go above my acceptable range and when I actually stick to my short term goals and diet, I lose more than that. I can get as low as 145 and be happy still.
Good Luck,
Charlotte
