Oh Honey!!!! {{{{hugs}}}} I'm sorry to hear that. I wish I could help you but I know nothing about that. What did the doctor say? Is there something you can take to make it easier? I'm sure there's hot flushes, mood swings, etc. that you are experiencing. Did your doctor say why so young? Did you start your cycles very young? I'm afraid that could happen to me because I started at almost 11 years old. But then again I dunno if that has anything to do because my Mom started at 15 years old and she went thru the change at 50. Hugs, Norma

My Mom went through the change at 42, actaully before 42 but she was carrying my baby brother. My sister who is around 50 years of age told me to have myself checked out as she started around my age. Donna

Donna, Perimenopause is completely normal at your age. The actual word menopause means when your periods have stopped altogether. if you're still having periods but having the hot flashes, mood swings, etc., then you are in perimenopause, which is the few years prior to the final change. Your age is right on target for it, as am I (41). Not eating is going to make it worse. Try eating some foods containing phytoestrogens (soy) to ease your symptoms. Like soy nuts, or anything made with soy. I know a lot of people turn up their nose at tofu, but it is yummy if prepared right. jean

Morming Jean I'm feeling a little better this morning. I still did not eat but my husband will force me out of the house and eat as it's Saturday. He takes really good care of me when he is home and able. I'm blessed to have such a wonderful man like him I feel like I'm HIGH and can't come down off this high. Then I have my moments of crying and can't control it. Then there is my issue of sex, well we won't got there Donna

My sister told me go to your PCP and explain that your having mood swings and check your blood as you might be going through the change. So she checked and I'm going through the change. When my PCP called yesturday I was such a mess that I only took down the number to another Doctor. Not sure why my PCP can't handle my hormone problem but I'll be calling back on Monday and asking what kind of Doctor I'm having to go see. I'm so tired Doctors These mood swings are awful!! One second I'm so high and can't come down and then next minute I'm crying over stupid stuff. Then I'll be standing there and the sweats running down my forhead. My memory is not good either but Ron my husband said YOU DON'T EAT!! Maybe with getting on hormones will help me in my eating, sure hope so. Donna

Hi Donna, I'm sooo sorry your having a hard time with the mood swings and stuff. I know it can be really hard on you cause I watched my Mom go thru with it. She started with her change of life around the age of 50. She went thru it for at least at couple of yrs before I MADE her go to her doctor. When she finally went to she her Doctor she put her on hormones and the mood swings, night sweats and everything started to calm down and now she doesn't have those problems anymore (cause she faithfully takes her medicine). If she forgets her body tells her. Have you had your thyroids checked out as well? Cause that can cause the mood swings and stuff as well. My Mom had a cyst removed in her neck and when they removed it they took to much of her thyroids out. She didn't know it and she went several yrs without having her thyroids checked. Once she did they put her on medicine right then and there cause her levels were off big time. When she forgets or runs out of her thyroid medicine she feels horrible and her body lets her know...she will have to take thyroid medicine the rest of her life. Well take care of yourself and try your best to eat cause going without food will only make things worse. Since your weak from the Change going with out food will only make your weaker and bring your immune system down and you could get sick. So please, please eat at least a little something. Becareful and I hope you get to feeling better soon. God bless. Yvonne

My surgeon found low calcium and something wrong with my thyroid, not sure if high or low plus high liver eczemas. I was never told about the liver, my PCP told me or she said. higher then normal liver eczemas?!?!!. My PCP sent a letter stating I have elevated PTH and Vit. D. So I must go see an endocrinologist. When I looked up PTH on the internet it comes up with Parathyroid Hormone. I'm hoping it's only caused from my calcium being off or that her tests or WRONG!! Donna
