Hey ladies! I, too, have been gone for quite a while. A move, husband's illness, new energy, etc. have kept me away. I have been searching through the posts to find "normal" weight loss for Dec. 2004 surgeries. I am beginning to wonder if I will lose anymore or am I done. Don't get me wrong I am happy with my total and my new size. I know a lot my "extra" weight is "extra" skin. How much have you lost? Kristin 410/214 ... Size 34/16W

Hi Kristin, I started out at 379 pounds. My weight keeps bouncing between 169 and 174. I have really been pushing my exercising this last few months. I want to be firmly in the 160's..the 150's would be great. I need to get down to 154 to have a normal bmi. I don't think that would happen without plastic surgery. I have a lot of loose skin. Nice to see you posting. I hope your husband is doing better. Take care, Diana

I started out at 265 and now weigh 143-146. My goal is 140. I expect to reach that with the panniculectomy in Sept. I achieved most of this weight loss in the first 6 months. jean

Hi Kristen, I started out at 295 priorto surgery.... For thr 1st 8months, I lost about 100-to 120 lbs... and kept if off. I just felelt I i was done losing. Kinda made me mad though, as I was still wanting to get down to my ultimate goal of 155... for at 5-11, that would be fairly thing for me. Well, in the last few months, and having been so sick latelym I have lost another 10-15 more lbs,,,, Now I'm just down to the last 9 lbs.... Not sure whether I will actually be able to get medicaid to pay for plastics, but I guess soon I will find out since I have been so sick lately. I really don't see me being approved for it, but even with the plastics, I only see me losing another 5-7 lbs I'd say just to give your body more time to continue to adjust, get back to excercising as much as possible, and going back to basics like back when you were first post-op... It worked for me... Maybe it will for you too. Good Luck, and keep the faith! Hugs, Susan

Good Grief.... I just reread my post.... while the general jist of it was ok, I can tell I had taken my pain meds. I'm not generally so flighty or illiterate.... When will OH ever give us the ability to edit our posts????

I'm still struggling to reach my goal of 150. My last weigh-in was July 15th and I was at 178. So another 28 pounds still to go. I lose very slowly. 1-4 pounds per month. I don't count on losing any weight from future plastics, as the plastic surgeon here (Canada) has indicated he won't operate until I reach my perceived goal weight. I won't give up. I still follow a prescribed eating routine and a prescribed exercise routine. My upcoming vacation has me worried. I will be living with relatives for 3 weeks. I plan to rely heavily on protein shakes, if good food choices are not available. Set yourself a goal and keep plugging away at maintaining healthy eating, while elevating your exercise routines. The weight will continue to slide off. Many blessings, Karen G 294 / 178 / 150

Hi Kristin, I started out at 368 and i am now at 174. I too lose about 1-4 lbs in a month and every now and then I will have a two to three lb drop like this week. I did a lot of walking over the past few days so I am sure that helped me. I am a slacker when it comes to excercise but I am working on it. I have a lot of sagging skin but right now plastic surgery is not an option. I would like to lose another 10 to 15 lbs before I start trying to maintain. I am 5'9" and pretty big bones so the upper range of my IBW is around 160. I never dreamed I would get to where I am now. I am so elated that I surpassed my surgeon's goal of 215 that I could dance in the streets LOL. You are doing awesome. Congratulations. Woo Hoo God Bless Michelle R OKC 368/174 34W/16W and even some regular size 18s Yipee!

Hi Kristin I had surgery Dec. 30, 2004. My heaviest weight was 250#s. I got down to 150#s and seemed to be maintaining at that weight for the last 3 months or so. I was so frustrated because although I was ok w/ 150#s, I really wanted to lose 10 more pounds so I could maintain between 140 and 150. I just never want to be above 150. I called my surgeons office and my PA called back to say that a 100# weight loss was great and probably above what was realistically expected for me. Well, I'm happy to report that I found a cardiac diet that lasts for only 3 days. It broke my plateau and I lost 5#s in 3 days (instead of the 10#s it boasts you will lose) and I now weigh 145#s! I just cleaned out my closed of all my size 12 skirts and am keeping the size 8's and 10's. I will continue the diet again next week to lose the last 5 pounds or more. I've seen some people post continued weight loss even after 18 to 24 months. So don't be discouraged. I posted a reply to Jamie's last post and a copy of that cardiac diet is included in my reply. Read it and try it if you like. I went from 250#s, size 22/24, 2x and 3x to 145# size 8/10 skirts/dresses, 11/12 pants, and small to medium tops/bottoms. I'm sure if I exercised more, I'd lose a few more pounds and get down to my dream weight of 135#s. Good Luck and God Bless!
