Not nuts/Thyroid
My surgeon called and I have low calcium and my thyroid is acting up. After reading up on the Thyroid I was shocked as most of the symptoms I was experiencing. I really started questioning my sanity but I still need to talk with someone about my eating and body issue.
These are the symptoms I have been experiencing. No wonder I thought I was going nuts. I would find myself sometimes just crying for know reason. Happy and then sad. Lately I have not been able to sleep well. I don't have the stop cleaning your house problem, lol. You really start questioning your sanity.
I told my friend maybe I don't need to go see anyone after all and she said I better go for my eating and body issues.
Skin, Hair, Nails: Is your skin: cold, thick, dry with little or no sweating, waxy, flaky, itchy, pale ivory or jaundiced? Do you bruise easily, do wounds heal slowly, are you always feeling cold?Is your scalp dry? Does your hair feel like straw? Is it starting to "frizzle"? Are your nails brittle and thick and always breaking, splitting, layering?
The Mind and Emotions: Does your mind feel "foggy?" Does your mental process seem slower than usual making thinking and decision making more difficult? Is your memory poor? Is your speech slurred at times?Do you feel depressed, sad, and cry easily for no reason? Do you feel as if you"re in "overdrive and "out of control"? Are you restless, nervous, impatient, irritable, unable to stop cleaning house etc.? Do you feel "ready to explode", have mood swings, headaches, difficulty sleeping you're so wound up?

Donna I have suffered with Thyroid disease for many many years and believe me you do feel nuts until someone tells you that its your thyroid.. Untreated thyroid disease will make you totally loopy!!! I was in college when they discovered mine and that semester my wonderful 4.0 average plummeted to a 2.5 It took over 3 months to get my number right and once they did WOW what a difference. It gets better!!!

Giggling, I love your handle "Mrs. Sparky Underwear" how did you come up with such a cut handle?
I'm glad I'm not alone. I really feel like I'm losing my mind. My husband is so at my side but I'm wondering how he puts up with me at times. Like last night I was ALL OVER him in bed and he was so tired. He told me. GO TO SLEEP and I broke down crying running from the bedroom. It's nuts!!

Hey Donna,
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism years ago, when I was so heavy. When I started losing all this weight, my need for medication also started going away. I'm now not taking any. I've been weaned off in the 20 months since surgery.
Get to the Dr, and get some medication for it.... you will be amazed in how much better you will feel
Hugs,
Susan
PS.... Debby's story of her id name is a cool one stemming from the singles board... But I'll let her tell it....
