Anyone with Ulcers

I'm wondering if anyone has exprienced an ulcer since having WLS and if so can you tell me how you felt? I have heard of people getting them in their intestinal area and I'm having some cramping on a daily bases. When I eat I sometimes feel better. My sister has ulcers and she said she felt hungry all the time as her ulcer would act up and she thought she was hungry. Ron said give my body time to heal from all the abuse of not eating, drinking and sleeping. Now that I'm not working I have my plans all mapped out. I'm going to throw myself into cleaning my house that is way over due to cleaning. Then I'm going to throw myself into my yard and do some planting of flowers. Then I'm going to start teaching myself Microsoft and Excel as that's the big thing in getting a job now a days. Ron has it on his computer and it actaully walks you through it and teaches you as you go along. Pretty neat I'm telling myself that I can go out and find a better job then the last one Where I can work Monday through Friday and have the weekends off with Ron. Everyone have a wonderful weekend and be good. Donna

Hi Donna, I haven't had to deal with ulcers, but I have been having tummy troubles myself. When I first went to the doctor, he told me to start taking some Prilosec, in case we did find that I had ulcers. But that even if I didn't, hatit wouldn't hurt any, and would calm my stomach some regardless. You may want to try and get some Prilosec, which you can buy over the counter, and see if that helps some. And BTW, when you get done with your cleaning, you could come help me with mine Hugs, Susan

I'm going to buy some prilosec and see if that works first. My surgeon might suggest trying that first anyway, right? My husband and girlfriend think I'm anorexic because I force myself to to get sick and that's only when my pouch hurts and I start feeling sick. I can't stand that feeling I get in my pouch. I'm going a LOT of cleaning around here. My son has a nasty habit of dumping what ever he don't want into my spare bedroom and then I discover he is dumping in my den room also and hiding things I'm trying to get my spare bedroom in order so we can use it as a guest room. We have a very large home, 2500 sq. feet and my husband and son use most of it for junk. Drives me nuts So I informed them both that Mommy will be doing some heavy cleaning.

Hi Donna We were just talking about ulcers at support group last night. Our surgeon said that there is pain and then you eat and feel a little better but not for long. He said you need to be checked ASAP as soon as you have these symptoms. He said don't wait 3-6 weeks before you tell me. Ulcers can become bleeding ulcers and not fun! So donna I think you should call your Dr. I still since the day after surgery take 40 mg of generic pepcid everyday for prevention. I was told that Ibuprofen and asprin, and other items can cause us ulcers. Are you taking any of that? Ok take it easy don't go overboard on the cleaning until you feel better. You need to take care of you first. Great idea about learning excel! Have a great weekend! Hugs, Kelly

It's not pain, it's cramping I'm having. I'll talk to Ron when he gets home tonight or maybe I'll just go on my own and not say anything to Ron about the Doctor. It's in my intestines Donna
