Hi there Thomas,
How are you? I really don't count calories. I eat very few carbs, infact I think in 18 months I probably have not eaten bread but 3 or 4 times. I am not innocent,
I tend to eat and snack on crackers and some animal cookies. I don't eat pasta or can tolerate rice.
I had my RNY on 12/15/03. I started my journey at 245 lbs and now I am weighing between 130-135 pds. I have been at "GOAL" I was wearing a size 26/28 and now I am wearing a size 6/8. LIfe is wonderful.
You sound like you are doing great, getting all your vitamins and proteins in. I would increase your water and try some exercise. I ride my bike. I have bad knees so walking is a bit much for me. I get around well, but straight walking on the boardwalk tends to hurt these old knees.
Your weight loss is fantastic.
to you and your hard work.
Keep on enjoying and living life.

I am 18 months out and am getting in about 1000 to 1200 calories a day.
What do you get in a day? I started at around 375 pounds and lost down to 246 ponds and have been there for about 7 months any help please?
I get all my vitamins and protein in and eat the good food thanks everyone For the help tom

Thanks for the encouragement. I attend a support group when I can, it is about 70 miles from where I live.
Protein has been hard the whole time, I have never been much of a meat eater. That's why I eat yogurt and cheese so much. I have finally found some protein bars to eat that taste good. If I drink too much water now, my stomach feels like a balloon. It takes longer now than it used to do. I don't get 64 oz a day, but try to get at least 48. My general Dr. has told me I needed to eat smaller meals rather than 3 regular meals. I have developed low sugar.
I haven't been exercising like I should. I started walking in the spring, but fatigue took over. But I know the basics, and I will get back on track. After paying for my surgery myself (insurance refused to pay), I have too much invested. I only need to lose about 25 more pounds. Thanks for listening.

I'm glad you are having "the crampy stomach" checked out. When you say you can't get back to the "basic" do you mean the "tool rules"? Water, exercise and protein first?, less carbs? no grazing? Do you have a support group you attend?

I have a stomach of steel!!! So I can't relate. It sound like an internal problem. Have you talked with your surgeon about this. Do you have ulcers?
Topic: Lost Hope
I can't seem to get back to the basics. I had surgery 12/16/2003. Lost 84 lbs. gained 6 back. My present weight is 160, and my goal is 135.
Instead of losing, I'm gaining.
My stomach stays upset, cramps and I guess I'm feeling sorry for myself, but I stay tired and can't seem to focus in the right direction. I need some help from anyone out their that has gone through similar situations.
Thanks

Topic: RE: Help!!!
I have the same problem. I am 18 months post-op and went from 240 lbs to 154 lbs. I have gained six pounds in the last 5 months. I go to my doctor on 06/23. He has talked to me about having an endoscopy. I also take prevacid, but this does not always work.
I have a lot of stress at work and have gone through a lot of depression. I can't get my mind off food. I can only eat yogurt, cream of wheat, cheese and plain bread. I bought some protein bars this past week because my hair has started coming out. I, also, have alot of stomach problems from extreme pain to diareha. I don't know why I have gained my weight, except I must eat too much of these things.
If you get any good advice on how to handle these problems, email me at;

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. I still need to lose about 20 lbs.
Good luck to you - Carolyn
