Topic: Wish Me Luck!
Hi to all my friends here on this board, and all the lurkers. How is everyone doing? I am fine, still trying to fight those food demons. Sometimes I feel like hiding, when the crunchies are around. Well guys, I was dating and after 10 months I have finally put in my head that you can't change someone. I have decided to begin to date again. The man I was dating just needed some relationship experience, and refused to seek that help. It is too bad he lost me for his ignorance. I LOVED his ways, he was respectful, and kind, but, he was lacking the relationship thingy. I saw the warning signs, but ignored them. Now I see why at 47, he was single. Good news.................. I have met someone, infact a few months ago, and tonight is our first date. At 53, dating is not what it used to be. We will meet for late night coffee. Wish me luck. He is really nice. Plus "GOOD LOOKING" Peace and Love....Lorraine Love you all

Dear Nona, You make this surgery not sound bad at all and losing weight!!! That is wonderful. Whenever I lose even a half a pound it makes me feel happy. Is it hard to walk? That was so nice of your co-workers, but it probably has something to do with your good personality. Everyone likes you. I am still praying for you and I hope the soreness goes away soon. Allison

Hi everyone, I'm doing ok. I had my drains out and half my staples yesterday and am very sore today, so I am taking it really easy. Some co workers got together and got me a card with money and lovely tote bag with kitties. I love it. Going to hang on to the money till I see what my co pay for the proceedure is going to be. I am down 10lbs as of this morning. My dr thinks I'll lose another 5 when all is done and all the swelling is gone. My eating is good. I'm really watching the carbs, no sugar at all, and lots of protein. But I can't eat as much as I did before the surgery. Maybe going on the fluids for three days did shrink my pouch? Or maybe its the binder? Or a combo of both? In any case, I am content with about a cup of food at a meal, total. No way I did that before. So things are going good so far. Nona

Hello Lorraine and Jessie, My girls started back to school a few weeks ago. This Saturday was their 17th birthday. School always takes so much of their time. I loved my summer and I love fall, but I always get that sorta sad feeling knowing that Winter is coming when I see the leaves begin to turn. I am still at 160 pounds and I have no idea how to get anymore off. I still exercise 5 days a week for an hour a day and I have rules for eating. I have tried to eat a little more since the cruise because I lost 4-5 pounds on it and was hoping that my problem was not eating enough, but it isn't making me lose or gain. We have this pressure here, that business is trying to buy out our neighborhood. There is the threat of the city taking our home away. We don't have enough money to move and the companies aren't offering us much for our house. We have 8 years until my husband retires and we will be able to move. I keep praying we get the 8 years, or lots of money =P The businesses say they want to start building here by this next Spring! I see nothing wrong with seeing a therapist (they are just expensive!) Take care! Your posts always cheer me up. Allison

Hi Jesi, I am glad you are OK.I see a therapist also. I think seeing him has helped me alot. I sure wish the guy I am dating or was dating, I don't know what it is now would go see one. Why do some people think its not normal and label you as crazy when you seek help? This is what some people say to me. I don't care. It helps me so much. He is very experienced in WLS and now I can look in the mirror and see the "NEW ME" and not the 250 lb "BIG GIRL" I am happy your kids got back to school. You will drop your last few pounds. You have done wonderful. If I was near I would give you the ((((((((HUG))))))) you need. Keep up your pretty little head, and move forward OK? Lorraine

We are always to darn busy! I am doing okay.....I am seeing a therapist......am maintaining, tho would love to be maintaining a lower weight....never made it to my goal weight......I was positive after plastics, I would get the motivation I need to drop the last few pounds......BUT I wasn't pleased with plastics and it was actually depressing and did the opposite......I ate bad feeling sorry for myself and went up a few pounds Oh well.....I am not letting it ruin me, and I am back on track now!!! Nona, Hi there girl How are you? I was thinking about you and was happy to see you posting again I am so glad everything went well. Now you have a new belly button. Mine is so ugly before my WLS, and now it's worse. I will wait until next year for my LBL. It has not been 1 year yet since I had that horrible hernia surgery. I am so scared to touch anything right now. If I had the money, I would do a Face Lift. I went in on the Lotto with some co-workers. Maybe I will hit it! Take care of yourself Give that DH Joe and BIG ((((((((((HUG))))))))) You are a lucky person to have a man like that. Get plenty of rest.... Lorraine

Hi Everyone, I'm home from surgery. They took 9lbs of skin and fat. I will be off work for around a month. I have two drains and a brand new belly button. They couldn't save the old one 'cause it was down too low, so he fixed me up with a new one. He also lifted the pubic area so it looks normal and doesn't have all that extra skin hanging on it. My DH Joe calls me his little 'borg. (Star Trek-First Contact) I could bop him one, if I could catch him. I had good muscle tone so no muscle repair and I didn't have any Lipo. But even with the swelling and fluid, packing and drains, I am still down 5lbs and 3inches on my hips. Nona
