Hey Nona.... I'm glad that finally something is helping with your pain. Things are pretty busy with my on-line nursing classes....I never thought I would say that "I spend too much time on the computer"....that's usually my DH's line. I passed the midterm and April 25 is my semester final. I have a week and a half off before the summer semester which is going to be a killer. I have Psych, OB and Peds. (Semesters are usually 16 wks long but the summer semester is only 12 weeks). Oh, well.....at least it's going by fast and December will here in no time.... I've had no problems after the GB surgery on 2/10. I had my post surgery checkup and again, the surgeon was amazed at my fast recuperation...in fact, he said he could barely call it recuperation because I never was really incapacitated. That's good. I'm still maintaining the "below" goal weight of 120-123. My weight has never been this stable. Someone asked me the other day if I had lost more weight and I said, "I pray not".....I never thought I'd have a problem trying NOT to lose. Take care Nona.... luvitsunnyv

Hi Nona Glad to hear the new med is helping ya. Hopefully this works long term.....you deserve to feel good I am doing good, staying busy and trying to keep my head above water. I am all healed up from the plastics (last thing was breast reduction 01/26/06) That was by far my easiest and most rewarding surgery, LOVE the results!!! I was hoping to be done with surgeries for awhile, but that won't be the case I have been having bad stomach pains for months.....my ulcer meds were switched to some pretty strong stuff, but nothing worked. I was referred to a GI specialist and he did an upper endo. I do have an ulcer but nothing serious that should be causing pain (he also noted a nice looking small pouch) So I went for a Gallbladder ultrasound, all was fine.....next was scheduled for a hidascan......and thats when they found that even tho my gall bladder looks good (no stones, not enlarged) it is not functioning and needs to come out. Apparently an inactive gall bladder can cause as much problems as one full of stones, just harder to detect. SO now that is figured out and I meet with a general surgeon next Monday to schedule surgery again I guess it is in and out tho....like surgery at 10am out, after 3pm sorta deal (which is mind blowing, put you to sleep, take out an organ, go home)!!! My plate is pretty full, and sometimes I don't know which way is up.....I wish there was a slow down button, give me time to think and make decisions, ya know!! Like the commercial with the big red EASY buttons, I so want one I was doing really well at getting rid of those 10lbs But have slid with that too.....not sure why I give up on myself so easy, but hate it! That about wraps up what I am up too.....nothing to exciting! Glad to hear your feeling better tho......thank goodness for new meds Anyways......I will come by more and see how everyone is doing. Take Care jesi

Jennifer, How are you ?Welcome to the Board. I think you are about at the same point we all are at. Sad to say most of us have maintained for some point and are trying to get off the last few pounds. I started at 245 lbs and have been at "GOAL" for well over one year now. I have lost 110 pds also. I now weigh about 140lbs. I feel good. I am 5ft6 and consider myself tall and slender. Oh did I say that If I gain a few pounds I just increase my water and protein. I try not to bring carbs in the house. If I do its small snack packs. I have no self -control. I do admit it. You must be eating more as time passes, so am I. You know and are aware by what you say to you have eaten more. Good Luck Remember ..... we are all human. We have worked hard to lose this weight and I consider myself trying my best. That is all I can do. I hope I help. This 'FOOD DEMON" is constantly haunting me. Just hang in there girl Lorraine

Hi all, I'm new to the board. I had surgery in Dec 03 & have lost about 110 pounds. I'm down to 138 & have been at this weight moving up or down about 5 pounds every now & then. For the past two weeks I have been trying to lose 10 pounds & starting exercising & watching more what I ate, but I can't budge the scale & feel like I'm eating so much more. I am not getting that full feeling anymore & feel bloated in my stomach. I'm so scared that I've messed up my stomach. I need some tips to get the extra 10 pounds off. Could it be that I just need to drink more water & eat more protein. I realized for the past several months I have just eaten whatever & not paid attention to carbs & protein. Please help!!

Nona, Hi there girl! I am so glad your medications are working. I did not answer your last post because I really don't know anyone with FM to help you. I do sufffer from RLS. I have a neice who does also. She takes medications and I don't. I was on so much medications for so long that if it really does not bother me I won't take medications. I take Syntroid and Zetia. I also take vitamins. I feel great. Thanks for asking about my new guy.He and I are together now 16 months. I will be moving in with him around my 2 year anniversary which will be in November. I think I am ready. I have been paying all my bills up and cracking those horrible charge cards up so I can move in with a clear mind. We have come so far and now I am learning to let myself be loved. I think I deserve it. Before I was finding faults with him, because I had a fear of committment. He has changed for the good and so have I. I guess we needed that time. I do love him and this weekend we are going up to homes in Vermont. I hope I don't freeze. Thanks for asking. Hi there Steve Hi everyone!!!!!!!!!!! Lorraine ((((((((HUGS)))))))) &

Wow. Sky diving. Gutsy guy. I love to fly, but I could never had the courage to jump out. Hats off to you!! I live in a very small villiage, population approx. 500, counting the cats and dogs. But I love it. Wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Keep taking charge of your life. Live it to the fullest. Enjoy every moment for the sheer joy of it. Smile at everyone. They will smile back. It know. It works. I do it, too. Nona
