Topic: 10 months today WHERE ARE YOU AT?
Hello all,
Just thought I would post my anniversary. It has been 10 months today. This year is really speeding by! I have now lost 120 pounds and my weight is 141...I STILL want to be 115, I think I'll be happy at 125 though. WE will see when I get there! I wore a size 10 jeans today!!! OK, they were really tight, but looked Great on! I am generally about a 12 now. I also have a pair of 9-10 jeans that can wear, just depends on the clothes! They are all so different! I only lost 4 pounds this month, so far my slowest month for weight loss! I hope it picks up! I want to be 125 for my 1 year anniversary (not likely) But hoping!
Where are you in size, weight, loss and do you feel if this journey is flying by? Tracy
Topic: RE: Question of the day!!!
Jesi, You have posted a great question.
Tell me about your support people at home.
I have alot of support from my best friend, Brenda. WE have been friends for 30 years. She thinks that I am too thin now and has named me "Olive Oil" We went to WallMart and she was screaming that name when she was looking for me. I love her dearly and know her intentions are good.
As I once posted on the board my daughter had RNY in 2000. She never reached goal. She was 350 lbs and got down to 230 lbs and stopped. This is a touchy subject with her. She does not talk too much about my weight loss with me. She does think also I am too thin.
It's great you have a hubby. I really needed that support through this whole thing, but I am alone. My sister was a great support to me. She also had banding done and has only lost 30 pds in one year. She also thinks that this hernia surgery had something to do with my WLS. She believes that there are too many complications from this surgery. You really can't change how people feel.
I work in a hospital and there are many jealous people. Some don't say a word. They just stare.....What can I say? ON with my journey...
Good question girl Take care..... Lorraine

I am stealing this from the Iowa boards....hehehe Don't tell em' LOL! We are all on here visiting and getting to know eachother, supporting eachother thru this journey........Tell me about your support people at home.....Kinda getting to know your friends deal. I will start! I am married and my hubbys name is Jason, he has been very supportive! I have three daughters....twins who are 5 and a 3 year old.....they are too very supportive in their kid like ways.....I will ask my daughter for a bite of her pizza and she tells me "no mommy~memeber you had your surgery" Sometimes I wish they weren't so smart! Also I am very close to my parents, and they are very supportive. I don't have tons of friends, more friends thru the girls ......more mommy group friends but we don't hang out without the kids......So besides my family, my main support is the boards and friendships made thru here. Lets here about you guys! Have a great day Jesi

Hi Lorraine! Thanks so much. I am so happy for myself! I've been floating all day! I love celebrating anniversaries! Happy early anniversary to you too. It's amazing what a few pounds off our bodies will do, huh?
Tomorrow is my daughter's 6th b-day and I went shopping for her gifts today, never go shopping when you are in a good mood because you end up buying way too much stuff. I made the mistake of going to the American Girl store at 49th and 5th and bought her a lot of gifts. Well, that's okay, she only has me to spoil her so she deserves it! Also she has been so good during the past 10 months with doing more walking with me outside and coming with me to the gym, etc. She is such a gem.
I hope you are feeling better and eating okay (NO GRAZING!!!).

Thanks Jesi! I am so proud and happy like a kid at x-mas!
130 lbs is so awesome as well. YOU should be very proud too.
I haven't posted pictures because I decided to keep this surgery private and I don't want anyone to see my picture on this website (especially my ex-husband). Only my parents and one of my sisters know about the surgery. However I am happy to email something to you. Send me your email address. Mine is: [email protected]. I don't have any "after" pictures yet but will ask my daughter (she's only 5!) to try to take one of me. I don't even know if I have any "before" pictures because I totally avoided the camera! (I still do!) I know there is a "before" picture of me on a video camera from my daughter's b-day party last October but I don't think I can transfer it to a .jpg file?? I'll try in any event.
Thanks again, and have a great day!

Today is our 10 Month Anniversary for all 12/12/03 Surgery Dates!! Wow, 10 months have gone and passed. Amazing.
I had a rough start but I don't have any regrets and today I stand at 181 pounds with a loss of 166 pounds since my surgery date. Exercise and sticking to the "program" are the keys for me.
Have a great day everyone. I know I will with 166 pounds gone! I feel wonderful.

Topic: RE: Help, I stopped losing!!!!!!
I've been complaining about this for months. I'm at about a 4 months plateau. I had 260lbs to lose when I started and still have 160lbs to go at 10 months out. I stopped coming to the boards as often because it's EXTREMELY discouraging seeing people who only had a 100lbs to lose saying they're at goal in the same amount of time that I've been struggling. Yes, they say you shouldn't compare yourself to others but you're so eager to get the weight off and gauge how you're doing in your journey. It's the only real means you have of seeing if you're progressing.
I'm still waiting for the "rapid weight loss". Yeah, 100lbs in 6months is fast however it's still NOT what I expected. I got rid of my size 30/32 summer clothes and went shopping once during the summer and only bought 6 pieces in 26/28. Well, I don't have any fall or winter clothes in the 26/28 size and I absolutely REFUSE to purchase any. I ordered some clothes last night and I ordered the 22/24. I'll just have to work harder to get into them comfortablly dang it. I refuse to purchase ANY 26/28.
