I'm so happy for you Sonya. You are so close to under 200 and I believe that with a lot of hard work and determination (low-calories and exercise) one CAN reach their goal or near it.
Honestly I am very nervous about ps as well. I'm worried about going into surgery again and I'm worried about the scars and that the results won't turn out the way I am envisioning. And yes, the pain! I have absolutely no pain tolerance so that will be just awful for me. The money part stresses me out too but I've saved about $30,000 so far to pay for it in case insurance won't. It's about time I spend some money on ME and if it means less vacations this year and less spending money then I'm willing to sacrifice (not sure if my daughter agrees!). I have my plastic surgery consultations in December with 2 different plastic surgeons. I also have a "goal weight" in mind before I start plastics but I just take one day and one pound at a time, that's all I can do.
Take care, and have a great day.

Thank you Kim,
I actually already reached my initial goal and that was to gain my mobility back. Anything after that is icing on my cake..........
oooo did I say cake!!!
I am really nervous about getting ps, it seems to be very painful and expensive!! I will cross that bridge when I get there.....
I plateaued at 275 and I was so afraid that was it for me. I am so glad I got past that point. I would like to be at least under 200 before my nip and tucks....but we shall see.

Topic: RE: Trying to solve this constipation problem
Good morning Lorraine. First, NEVER BE EMBARRASSED to talk about anything on this site. If you are experiencing something there is sure to be at least one or two other people experiencing the same. Second, I have had problems with constipation from the day of surgery. It could be that I just don't eat enough to clean out my system so to speak. Well, I now take FiberCon on a regular basis, 2 of them a day. This really seems to help ME. If this is a temporary problem for you then you might continue with the prunes until your body heals from the hernia surgery or try some FiberCon (or something similar).
I hope you are feeling better soon! It's cool and breezy but at least sunny in the City today. Have a great day.

Goodmorning...Once in awhile I get a case of the same problem. A terrible pain in my left side. Took me awhile to fingure out what was going on. I could not sit without pain...then it hit me...I am backed UP! I drink some cranapple juice and it seems to do the trick. Such a awful feeling.....

Hello Jesi,
It is truly amazing!!!!! I have been doing things I only dreamed of being able to do again. My mobility is miracle in itself. I can walk, dance and go places like the mall. No more motor carts for me!!!! I want to go on a cruise after I get my ps.
Wouldn't it be great if some of use could get together and have a huge party in celebration of our success. Of course that would be after all the nip and tucks....... lol

Nona~
But the carbs in fiber rich food are good for you.......Try eating like the chilibeans in chili sauce......I just looked at a can and for 1/2 cup it is only 110 calories with 6 fiber...that is great! Sprinkle a little cheese on it.....try more beans!!! Also I have a package of benefiber and for one packet....you put it into drinks, it dissolves and you can't taste it.....it has 20 calories....4 carbs......and 6 fiber, 3 dietary and 3 soluble! You might wanna try some of that.....it gets spendy but if it helps, it might be worth it.......I am new to this constipation thing, have never been really constipated until now
I have an aunt with diverticulitus, no fun! Hang in there hopefully you will find relief soon......Has your insurance approved the other med yet......Keep bugging them!!!! Take Care

I am usually NEVER constipated......my morning coffee works for me!!! But I too, like you, had surgery last Thursday and since then....man oh man I have been plugged up......I too feel like you and can't strain, I had an open hysterectomy. My coffee isn't cutting it this time.....My gyno says it takes awhile for the bowels to wake up fully and get back to normal, but man I feel like POOP!!!! I never thought about the prunes....I thought they would have to much sugar in them........maybe I will pick up a package today......I just want my bowels to return to normal
Take Care
Jesi......I have also heard that smooth move tea helps....you can get it at health food stores or big grocers!

Topic: RE: caffeine
This is what I have always been told......caffeine is a diuretic and has been know to some to increase appetite......If you are drinking caffeine all day long it does have the diuretic effect and kinda dehydrates ya....and some people it really does increase appetite......also if you are ulcer prone or have one, it is not good for the pouch!!!! Now here my story....hehehe I have to have coffee every morning or I don't go poo, decaf doesn't cut it, plus I like my regular coffee! I only have 2-3 cups first thing in the morning......to make up for the diretic effect I have a couple extra glasses of water each day also.....For me the coffee doesn't increase my appetite......I told my surgeon this and he is fine with me having my morning coffee.....and I do not drink any other caffeine throughout my day! If you are going to drink it make sure to ask you surgeon what he thinks, and only drink it in the morning and make sure to up your water throughout the day......the water is the important thing really!!! Take Care
