Topic: I'm back
Got some new pictures to share. Follow the link. I went on vacation to Phoenix to see family and attend my nieces baby shower. Got back and spent my husbands birthday/our anniversary going horseback riding, something I've not done for years and promised myself I'd do once I got down far enough. I am a little over 10 mos. out now and my official weight is 212lbs. What's more important is I feel great. I am having experiences I've not been able to have in many years thanks to this gift I've given myself. I feel so blesses today and wanted to share with my december buddies, who from what I've been catching up on, has been doing so good!! Keep it up guys!! Has your doctor written a letter on your behalf to the insurance carrier explaining your need for Zelnorm and the problems with the medications you have used? I had an experience where the insurance had a strong preference for Nexium over Prevacid (before WLS) and I switched with terrible, painful results. After 2 weeks I couldn't stand it, called the doc who contacted the insurance and I was back on my Prevacid. Surely, there's an answer to this! LuvitsunnyV@goal

My insurance is really picky too on which meds it will pay for or won't...But if you fail at a covered one then they should have to let you try another......my insurance does anyway......your doc should be working for you and writing or calling on your behalf....It is silly to pay insurance premiums and still be miserable.....I feel for you honey! I hope you start to feel better soon Jesi

Nona....Keep the faith and hang in there. You need to get your PCP and WLS surgeon on the same page with you and have them write an appeal to your insurance company in support of you being able to get the Zelnorm. Don't give up with a stinky fight! karie

Well, I guess it's back to MOM. I don't think I can take the Mirilax. It gives me such pain in my side. I took a double dose, and am in such pain and bloating. MOM never gave me these side effects. The same thing happened the last time I tried to take the stuff, but my insurance won't pay for Zelnorm. I just don't know what else to do. How about ? Nona

Happy Birthday !! And, congratulations on your -120 pounds gone. That is just great. 15 pounds is nothing! You can do this, just take one day and one pound at a time. Sorry to hear about the hysterectomy. Take care, and congrat again!

What a great b-day present.....to weigh 120 lbs. less than my last b-day! I turned 46 today and am down 4 more lbs. this month for total of 120. I have 15 lbs. to go to get to goal. Would like to do that by my year anniversary but the loss is slow now so I'm not going to sweat it. I'm still dealing with anemia pretty bad and took my second round of iron shots. I meet with my PCP today to probably plan a hysterectomy for Dec. 17....the day before my 1 yr. WLS anniversary. That will hopefully take care of the anemia. I am not able to walk as much as I was this summer. I get 2-3 miles in 3-4 times a week now. This summer I was able to do 5 miles most days but the schedule just doesn't allow it right now. I also feel bad that I hardly ever get on the boards anymore....I know there are a lot of new people. But I will be on more in early Jan. while I'm recovering from the hysterectomy and then in the summer too, when I have more time. Would I do this again?? Well, I'm glad I don't have to but I would if I did have to.....it has changed my life so much for the better! Hugs to all, Jenni -120/ 15 to goal
