Topic: RE: Yep I'm Still Here and Staying the Same
Hi Jesi! I did have the ablation done and it helped with the bleeding but I still have a lot of cramping and now my periods are more frequent. I do believe that part of the lack of weight loss is the whole "where I am" thing. A lot of people seem to be in the same boat so I'm not really stressing over it too much. My surgeon said the same thing about exercise. He said low impact aerobics should help, then again I had that hernia which put me out of the exercising business for awhile. Thank you for your support. I'm glad that you are feeling better. Jill

I really think it has more to do with the time frame.....it semms like a lot of us are in the exact same boat right now.....I had been at a stand still for a couple months to....well I would gain and lose the same 2-3 pounds....it was so frustrating!!! We have all done so well, getting farther out, and closer to goal......time to slow WAY down I guess....My surgeon reccomended kickin up exercise! I too had major cysts and fibroids.....I would bleed for months on end......quit for two weeks then start again for another couple months......I finally got a hysterectomy a couple weeks ago, and I am feeling fab!!! I had a D&C also with no relief and I wasn't a candidate for ablation because I have a very thing uterine wall.......anyways the hysterectomy did jump start my weightloss again, not so much the period stopping, but by being on a liquid diet for a couple days really reset my pouch.....I was up to almost 1 cup of food per meal.....I am back down to 1/4-1/2 cup at most now. I am amazed yet again!!! Best of luck to you, just know most of us have been dealing with the very same thing!!!! Take Care Jesi

Hi Kim, I keep telling myself the same thing over and over and over again. Just keep up what you're doing and eventually it will have to start going down again. I need to have a hysterectomy but I wanted to lose my last 50 pounds first. I think I'm beginning to wonder if I have to have the hysterectomy first before I'll start losing again. That's why I need to talk to my surgeon. Hopefully he should know... Thank you so much for your support. Jill

Hi Jill. I'm sorry to hear about the fybrous tumors. I'm sure with your period coming every 3 weeks or so that would certainly hinder your weight loss. I hope the doctor can help you more on Tuesday. Sounds like a lovely vacation with your DH!! It must have been so relaxing! Hang in there re your weight loss. I'm sure it will pick up again soon. We are so not done yet and our bodies just need a chance to catch up and breathe. As long as you are doing everything right, exercise, low-calories, no snacking, etc. the weight loss will start up again. Have a great day. Kim 347/181/???

This is very normal Susie. Just hang in there and keep doing the right stuff and the weight loss will come. Being so far out the weight loss will definitely slow down but if you stick to the program your body will start to lose again. Just be patient, easier said than done I know. Good for you for increasing the exercise, keep your calories low and no snacking! Your body is just taking a break. Good luck; it's not over yet!

Hi Rhonda. I drink Atkins Ready-To-Drink Protein Drinks daily, the chocolate and the strawberry flavors. I think they are great and are the only drinks I like! If you haven't already, you might consider trying one to see if they agree with you. They have 20 grams of protein and are low-carb. My sister, who is 120 pounds mind you, drink 1 or 2 a day just to get her protein in and because they are delicious. Good luck.

Hi Susie, like you I haven't lost anything in a couple of months. I would highly recommend you go back to your surgeon. I've been back to mine once already and I'm going again Tuesday. If they he don't know what to do then we are in BIG trouble... lol Take care and don't get discouraged. Jill

Topic: RE: HOW MUCH CAN U EAT NOW?
Hi Christy. I eat anywhere from 700-900 calories a day. I really try not to exceed 900 calories and most days I stay below 800. If I give in to head hunger well I'm sure I can eat a lot but I try to keep head hunger in check and eat/drink 3 square meals a day. I usually have 1 protein shake and 2 meals or 2 protein shakes and 1 meal. For breakfast I always have a protein shake, for lunch a protein shake or rolled up ham or turkey, tuna salad, egg salad (all with no bread) then for dinner I usually have shrimp or chicken or chicken broth with melted cheese. For lunch at school, make some tuna salad or egg salad or chicken salad the night before and put it in those little 4oz containers. Or you can take some rolled up lunch meat. Or if you are at goal and want to add some bread (and if you pouch is okay with it), make yourself a 1/2 a sandwich on whole wheat bread. Can you eat a good breakfast and then have a protein drink for lunch? Good luck in school. Kim 347/181/???

Jill, so sorry to hear of your troubles. I had some back in '85. It was the worst. It could stop the loss, especially with fluid build up. Be patient and get well. Hope things turn all right for you. Nona
