Topic: RE: anemia and blood loss
I know this is an old post but I had the exact issue. Ferritin was down to 2. Had to get blood transfusion, central port and 2 complete rounds of iron infusions. I had my rny in Jan 2005. I also lost 115 and have gained back almost 40. How are you doing now? I just checked my level and it is 43, down from 86 in december.
Topic: RE: HAIR LOSS
hello...I know exactly how you are feeling..although it has been 7 yrs, I remember it well. Taking a shower and having hands full of hair when I washed it. I was told to take Biotin and Folic Acid daily. I have been taking them ever since. Never had to have a wig and the huge clumps stops. Once in awhile, if I am not eating right or forget my vitamins I notice it starting again. I had been keeping my hair short also, but my boyfriend asked me to let it grow. He always says it is getting thicker and it is longer...and I have no worries...Stay strong...try the Biotin and Folic Acid (ask your doctor first, of course) ...they do help...God Bless...

Just checking in after all these years. I hope everyone is doing well. I just had a revision so I am back to square one. I never gained much wt. back after my first one but never ever got down to goal for some unknown reason. I am hoping that this time I can finally feel like I had the surgery for a reason!!

Hello...It has been months since I've checked in here. It does seem as though our Anniversay group have taken leave. Let's see if you and I can gather some up.
Let me ask you...your surgery was exactly 2 days before mine. So we have both been post OP same length of time. I started at 308 lbs. I have managered to keep 108 off but have 20 lbs that flip-flop back and forth, plus I never made my goal weight. Right now I linger between 195-200. Still considered obese. I just can't seem to lose this last 50 lbs. A year ago I had a UGI that said my pouch was still pretty small. I have followed Weigh****chers and a few others (back into the old habits) and can't lose anything. Have you had any trouble keeping your weight off?? did you reach goal??
