Hey Kim~ I did fairly well last week...I exercised everyday alternating nights with weights and cardio, I mixed 1 tsp. of Slenda with 1 tsp. of real sugar for the first couple of days then went to straight Slenda. I am still getting used to the taste and still crave the real sugar. I am now 2 lbs. away from 200 lbs. tomorrow is my 11 mos. anniversary, so I'm hoping the scale will move 2 lbs. by then (yea, right). Cutting back on the carbs to 40-50 grams a day has been very hard, but I am seeing the results!! Thanks so much for your input and advise Thanks for your support too. Diane

No, I missed it. Can you give me the run down? Did Oprah have WLS, I know there have been rumors out there but I never heard for sure. She looks great! I know her weight has always fluctuated but she seems to be keeping it off for a while this time. Staci

Topic: RE: Cold affecting you differently this year???
Hey girl! Yes, I too am freezing to death. My DH says its like cuddling up to a butter ball turkey. My hands and feet are always like ice. I live in LA and it doesn't get too cold here, like you but there has been a little nip in the air at 49 degrees to about 77 each day for the last few days. I have to dress in layers and keep a sweater with me at work and one in the car at all times. I used to be hot all the time and keep two to three fans on plus the a/c on about 68, not anymore. My hubby and I fight all the time about it being on 80 and me still cold with the fan on... Ha/ha. Ive already asked him for an electric blanket and one of those zip up footed pjs to wear around the house. Have a good week! Staci

Many of us are in the same boat. Nothing seems to help. I am told by many just to keep on doing what you're doing and it will eventually come off again. But now it is going on 4 months and nothing is changing. I wish I could help you, but I am stuck at 200lbs, a 14-16. I would love to be where you are, but, well, here I am. You must be a 10-12. Or less, right? Just think to what you started at and look at where you are. Go go, girl and keep doing it and working the program for you. Nona

Topic: Stuck at 160 lbs. after 11 months....ADVICE??????
I am having a hard time with this right now...I had surgery on 12/10/2003 so as of today it has been 11 months. As of this morning, I weigh 160 lbs. When I had surgery I weighed in at 248. So, I have lost a total of 88 lbs. Which I think is truly amazing but my personal goal was to be at 140 - 145 by 12 months after surgery...any advise on how to start losing again. I am exercising, watching what I eat, etc. Should I increase the liquid protein? Thanks to everyone!!! javascript:setMainIcon('clown',15,15) javascript:setMainIcon('clown',15,15)

Hi Diane! How are you doing with the splenda and exercise? I've been thinking about you lately and hoping the scale has moved a little for you. Kim 347/170

1)Did anyone watch it? Yes, I did! 2)What do you think about it? I think it is great how people have used this surgery as a tool to a better healthier life! I3)Wasn't it horrible to see the prison she lived in because of her morbid obestiy? Yes, so many people live like this and never get the opportunity to live a full life. . 4)Were you emotional like me? I loved what the plastic surgeon did for her. How great is it that a doctor uses his "gift" of surgery that he was blessed with to make a difference in someones life. Awesome, to see people work in that way! Now...I am always amazed how people view WLS...either its is easy for them or they say it was HELL. Personally, it has been easy for me as recovery but I still fear the weight will come back me. Take care...can you believe its almost 1 year for us?! karie -116
