Topic: more surgery
I'm scheduled for a hysterectomy on Dec. 17, the day before my 1-yr. anniversary of WLS. (I do these crazy dec. surgeries because it fits into my work schedule, NOT because I like having pre-Christmas surgery!!) Hopefully, this will take care of my anemia which is slightly better now after 20 iron shots but still not where I should be. I'm at 10.3 as opposed to 12.5 or higher that I should be. As for my weight loss, it seems to be over or stalled but I really think that is, at least in part, because of the hormones my dr. put me on here prior to the hysterectomy. They are strong and awful.......I hate them! I have actually gained 5 lbs since being on them. My total loss was 123 and now is 118. I still have 15-20 lbs. to goal so am discouraged about that. I'm hoping that going off the hormones (I took my last ones pre-surgery a couple days ago) and then just having another surgery will jump start my weight loss. I plan to really concentrate on that for the next couple months after surgery. I have slipped into some bad habits....I eat something sweet about every day......wish I'd never started that. I also only walk about 3-4 times a week (2.5 miles) as opposed to this summer when I was walking 2.5 miles 10-12 times a week.......twice a day, most days. My schedule just doesn't allow it now. I eat pretty well most of the time but my eating could be improved. Walmart quit carrying the protein drink I liked and I can NOT find one to replace it....that is the pits. I do feel like I'm struggling here....partly my own doing, partly just my situation....hoping I get get FULLY back on track here soon! Jenni

Hi, Well I started out on 12/12/03 in a size 24...heading to a size 26 and I am now down to a size 6 with my loss being 119 pounds. At about 4 1/2 months out I was wearing a size 14. Its hard to say what size you would wear depening on your body like everyone else mentioned. karie

Hi Jan!! Well, I can only answer your last question as I am scheduled for PS on March 22, 2005. I started at 245, 5'4", and now at 123. I consider myself at goal and have not lost more than 4lbs in the last 2-3 months, so I think I am pretty much where i will stay. I decided to wait till March for 2 reasons. 1: Income tax money to pay for it and 2: My weight would be stable for a bit before PS-although my PS said I was ready now if I chose to. In March I will have a TT and Breast lift (maybe with implants-not sure yet) along with a little lipo on my hips. The PS said that I will loose another 4-5lbs. I am a size 4-6 and guess I will end up a solid 4, maybe a 2 (who whould have ever thought ) The cost for all three (without implants) is just over $13,000-I am self pay, my HMO wont touch plastics. The breakdown for just the TT was around $6200 Good Luck in whatever you decide and HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!! Kimberly 245/123@goal

Thank God I made it!!! Welcome to the new me, I'm voluptuous; sexy; and too dam cute. Today is my 1 year anniversary for my WLS. I'm 145 pound lighter, and God is still good. I have made it through with this surgery without any complications. WLS has changed my life so much; I have become a total new person. I'm so excited!!!! I'm dating, my self esteem is up; I'm being notice by everyone, I'm just too cute. I don't want to brag, but somebody has to do it. My goal is to get less than 200 lbs, and I will be okay. I just wanted to check in with the family and say hello. Happy Holidays, and remember JESUS is the reason for the season. Before WLS: 382 Current: 238

HI Chiquita, Mark is right. You will loose according to your own body. I lost 40lbs the first month, 30 the second and about 10 a month after that until about August, then I stopped. I'm still loosing a few inches, but that's due to exercise. You could loose all the weight you want, or not nearly enough, like me and a few others here. But in either case, you will be healthier and smaller, that's a fact. Nona

Hi Jan, we seem to be in the same boat, no loss for four months, with large frame. I'm a 14-16 with an occasional 12 top. Plastics aren't for me, insurance wise, and I can't afford them myself. Hope you find the answers to your questions, but from what I've seen, most wait for at least 6 months of weight maintaining, unless you have a serious need, like a huge tummy hanging down. Nona
