Topic: HI ALL ONE YEAR LOSERS
HI ALL!! WELL, IT HAS BEEN QUIT A YEAR. FROM MY ORIGINAL WEIGHT OF 330 LBS IM DOWN TO 190 LBS. MY LIFE HAS CHANGED DRASTICALLY. EXERCISING, BENDING, CROSSING MY LEGS, WORKING, SLEEPING, BREATHING IS SO MUCH EASIER. IM DOWN FROM A SIZE 50 WAIST TO 36. THREE X SHIRTS TO MED-LG. LIFE IS MUCH EASIER ON THE SLIMMER SIDE. MY BMI WAS 44 KNOW IT IS 26. MY BODY FAT PERCENTAGE IS DOWN TO 17%. BUT I DO WANT TO SAY IT WAS NOT ALL FUN AND GAMES DON'T LET ANYONE CONVIENCE YOU THAT IT IS THE EASY WAY OUT. I WANT TO TELL EVERYONE THAT IS THINKING ABOUT HAVING THIS PROCEDURE SOMETHING. YOU HAVE TO BE MENTALLY,EMOTIONALLY, AND PHYSICALLY READY FOR THIS. I AM SEEING MANY PEOPLE DOING THIS FOR THE WRONG REASONS. WEIGHT LOSS AND BEING HEALTHY IS THE ULTIMATE GOAL HERE. BUT I HAVE LEARNED AND EXPERIENCED THROUGH MY TRAILS AND TRIBULATIONS THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO EAT BAD THINGS AGAIN. NOT AS MUCH AS YOU USE TO, BUT ENOUGH TO BECOME A FAILURE IF YOU LET IT. HAVING FATNING THINGS ONCE IN AWHILE WILL NOT KILL YOU, TRUST ME. BUT GOING BACK TO EATING IT EVERY DAY WILL. THE FIRST 6-9 MONTHS AFTER SURGERY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL OF YOUR EATING HABITS AND THE THINGS YOU CHOOSE TO EAT. SUGAR AND FATS BECOME A BAD THING. TRUST ME ALL POST OPS KNOW WHAT IM SAYING. YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE ALL DOING THIS FOR THE RIGHT REASONS. "HEALTH AND WELLNESS" AS MOST OF YOU KNOW I WORK IN OUR LOCAL ER AND EMS. I HAVE SEEN MANY SCREW UPS WITH WLS PATIENTS. AND SOME GREAT SUCCESS. THE LAST FEW PATIENTS IV SEEN TOLD ME THAT THEY REGREATED HAVING IT DONE AND THEY WERE HAPPY BEING FAT. I THEN SAY "WHY DID YOU DO IT THEN"?? "BECAUSE MY HEALTH WAS POOR", WAS THE ANSWER. THEN WORK WITH THE PROGRAM DO NOT FIGHT THE SURGERY BY EATING MCDONADLS AND DAIRY QUEEN ONE MONTH POST OP. I WILL TELL YOU IT IS UGLY. MY WIFE AND I ARE EMBARKING IN A NEW FIELD OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS NEXT YEAR, BY BECOMING CERTIFIED NATURAL HEALTH PRACT.. I RECENTLY STARTED A WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM AND HEALTH CONSULTING BUSINESS IN PERU. IT HAS BEEN GOING WELL. I ALSO DO WLS CONSULTING FOR PEOPLE THAT NEED HELP ON THERE DIETS OR NEED AN EAR TO TALK TO. IM HERE FOR ALL MY WLS FAMILYALWAYS. THERE HAS NOT BEEN ONE DAY THAT I HAVE REGREATED DOING THIS. IT HAS MADE MY LIFE SO MUCH BETTER IN SO MANY WAYS. IT HAS MADE ME REALIZE THAT IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR HEALTH YOU HAVE NOUTHING. BECAUSE MANY PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT THERE HEALTH UNTIL IT HAS BEEN TAKEN FROM THEM. I HATE TO HEAR PEOPLE THAT SMOKE AND EAT HORRIABLE FOOD AND ARE OBESE TELL ME THAT "WELL YOU HAVE TO DIE FROM SOMETHING" WELL, WHEN YOU ARE IN THE ER ONE DAY AND YOU ARE HAVING A HUGE HEART ATTACK OR STROKE I WANT YOU TO LOOK THE DOCTOR STRAIGHT IN THE FACE AND SAY " I KNEW I WAS GOING TO DIE OF THIS ONE DAY SO LET ME GO, I DO NOT WANT HELP" IT HURTS ME TO SEE PEOPLE THAT HAVE TAKEN THIS TOOL AND THROW IT DOWN THE TOILET BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT READY. WE NEED TO ALL MAKE A PROMISE TO OURSELVES THAT WE ARE GOING TO BE HEALTHY AND WE ARE GOING TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES. I ALWAYS TELL MY CLIENTS THIS "TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY, IT IS THE ONLY PLACE YOU HAVE TO LIVE" GOD BLESS YOU ALL IN YOUR JOURNEY. STRIVE TO BE HEALTHY CHRIS

Congratulations to you Rachel!! You and I have the same anniversary. I have only lost eighty nine pounds and have 40 lbs more to go. Thank you for being an inspiration. How often do you exercise? Wishing you lots of happiness in the new year. Carol

Hi Lorraine! Glad to hear the doctor was pleased with your results and super glad to hear that you met a nice guy. They are hard to come by so enjoy and be sure he treats you like a princess. I'll add my total in on Sunday, my one-year anniversary. I am trying to get down to the 150s by Sunday (that would put me in the normal bmi range!!!). Take care, and good luck with maintenance. I hear that is the real work.
