Hi there to all my friends.
How is everyone doing?
Well................... I finally got on a bike and began to ride again. Last year at this time I was suffering pain from the hernia. I did not know I had it until they opened me up last September. I could hardly walk and exercise.
My daughter moved out March 15th and left her new bike behind.
Today I got on it and went straight to the boardwalk. I rode , rode, and loved it.
I can't believe...."NO PAIN" I know this sounds strange to some of you, but I really had trouble riding before because of my bad knees,and the fact that I weighed 245 lbs and could hardly breathe.
Well now at 130 lbs and 15 months post-op, I am going to enjoy life. I am going to
and love life. I sure hope you guys are enjoying it also as much as I am.
Is there something you are enjoying as much as me?

Hi there Norma,
I am always craving the wrong foods. "CRUNCHIES". Chocolate seems to make me feel a bit queasy.My blood work is great. All my levels are fine. I drink "Atkins Advantage" Chocolate Royal . It seems to take away the cravings. Old habits are hard to break. I really never ate the right things all my life.Everyday is a learning experience with this WLS.You made the right step when you decided to do it. Now we must just go.........."ONE DAY AT A TIME"
If you wake up with that craving try some Sugar free popsicles.Just remember you are human and I am sure you had these cravings before your WLS.

It's because your protein is low, so your body crave some fuel and the fastest, not the best, are carbs. So find a good protein shake. I Like Protein Delight in Alpine Chocolate. It even has pieces of chocolate in it. It's sweet, thick and very tasty. Drink two or three a day and the carb craving will disappear. I know. Been there. Done it.

Topic: WRONG CRAVINGS
Just wanted to know why I am craving the wrong foods.
Recently I went for my regular blood work and the doctor said that I was anemic, low white blood cell count and not enough protein.
He told me to meet with my nutritionist--(which I haven't had time to do) to see about eating more protein.
He also told me to take sub-lingual vitamin b-12.
Anyway--for about 2 months--I crave bread and chocoloate.
I would rather eat sweets than eat real food.
That's my problem. Instead of eating food-I eat toast or sweets. I am still managing to slowly lose weight but I can'st stop these cravings.
Even when I am asleep-I wake up craving something sweet.
Any ideas?

I get cold alot too. So I drink green tea. It boosts the metabolism and warms you up from the inside.

Hi Lorriane,
My weekend was busy. Shopping Friday morning, cleaning at my daughters in the afternoon. Saturday I cleaned my house and ordered a new front door and paneling for a remodle of our living room. Sunday, I finished laundry and mowed the grass. That smelled so good! I love the smell of fresh cut grass, especially the first cutting. I felt great after. Tired, but no joint pain. Slept great too. However, my weight went up. Must be the fluid in the muscles from the exercise. I know I'm not eating more, but it went up anyway. I'll watch it close this week to make sure it doesn't go any higher.

I live in So. FL and freeze most of the time. There is absolutely no more insulation to this body of mine. I never walk out of the house without a sweater or jacket.
I find it very easy to skip lunch so that is when I try to drink my protein drink. I usually have oatmeal and fruit for breakfast and a yogurt smoothie mid morning. I nibble at dinner most of the time and then drink another yogurt smoothie before bed. I need to remember about the "basic rules", too. Thanks.
