Hi all, I'm new to the board. I had surgery in Dec 03 & have lost about 110 pounds. I'm down to 138 & have been at this weight moving up or down about 5 pounds every now & then. For the past two weeks I have been trying to lose 10 pounds & starting exercising & watching more what I ate, but I can't budge the scale & feel like I'm eating so much more. I am not getting that full feeling anymore & feel bloated in my stomach. I'm so scared that I've messed up my stomach. I need some tips to get the extra 10 pounds off. Could it be that I just need to drink more water & eat more protein. I realized for the past several months I have just eaten whatever & not paid attention to carbs & protein. Please help!!

Jennifer, How are you ?Welcome to the Board. I think you are about at the same point we all are at. Sad to say most of us have maintained for some point and are trying to get off the last few pounds. I started at 245 lbs and have been at "GOAL" for well over one year now. I have lost 110 pds also. I now weigh about 140lbs. I feel good. I am 5ft6 and consider myself tall and slender. Oh did I say that If I gain a few pounds I just increase my water and protein. I try not to bring carbs in the house. If I do its small snack packs. I have no self -control. I do admit it. You must be eating more as time passes, so am I. You know and are aware by what you say to you have eaten more. Good Luck Remember ..... we are all human. We have worked hard to lose this weight and I consider myself trying my best. That is all I can do. I hope I help. This 'FOOD DEMON" is constantly haunting me. Just hang in there girl Lorraine

Thanks Lorraine, I just get scared sometimes & think I have messed the whole surgery up. That's what I'm going to do is up my water & protein & watch my carbs. I'm going to try & get back to walking too. Thanks for your help. It's great to talk to someone that's at the same place as me.

I felt the same way, that since I didn't lose the 150 I wanted, that I failed. But, I know that my body just doesn't want to be at the weight I want it to be. So, I just try to keep it where it is and maintain. You did great. Yes, upping the water and protein always helps. I've started drinking shakes again, under Dr's orders. It helps some health issues I have, other than just the bypass. Eat complex carbs, like lots of veggies, fresh fruits and whole grains. Eat a few Triscuits with a shake it you stay full for hours.
