Kari and Jesi, and other plastic recipients.......
Hi guys, I was just wondering how each of your are doing? I am recovering slowly, but it is taking so long! I thought I'd be back at work by now, but it's going to be another two weeks off, then two weeks part time. I still can't stand up straight, and still have pain and drainage in the incision. I am still taking the Vicodin for pain, not as much, but still taking it. Not abnormal, according to my dr, but it just seems like its taking so long to be back to normal. How is everyone else doing pain wise? Or am I just being wimpy? I tire easily, can't walk far, and can't lift anything at all, or it hurts. I'd really appreciate some feedback guys, if you don't mind.

Dear Nona,
I haven't had any plastics either, but I imagine it would be a pretty hard recovery. I can see why you would have trouble standing up. It does sound like you are feeling a little bit better, but I know that times goes slowly when you don't feel well. I am still praying for you and can only hope that things seem a little brighter soon.

Nona~sorry to hear your having a rough time....for me the first couple days sucked......but it was all good after that NOT A GOOD THING. My plastic surgeon even commented on how good and straight I was walking on my one week check-up......The thing is.....my whole thing sucked basically. I was never super tight or hunched over.....I am two months out now and so dissapointed. I have actually gained 10lbs having a major pity party for myself. I had the full tummy tuck with muscle tightening and anchor cut......paid a couple thousadn out of pocket to make sure it was done right.....I am cut hip to hip....breast bone to pubes and look like poop. So if your doing miserable and in lots of pain and hunched, be glad It means you were done right! Check out my pics.....I knew there was something wrong from the begining...... picturetrail.com/jesinjay I need to take an updated pic, but I hate looking at the major roll I now have under my boobs.....but I look a lot worse than my three week pic that is posted! Take Care jesi
Hi Jesi thanks for responding. I'm so sorry to hear you're not doing well. I am still not standing up completely straight, but most of the pain is now gone. I went to Sears and bought a body shaper called Diet Trim. Sears is the only place that carries it. My dr says it has the best support for the abdomin of any foundation garment he knows of. And let me tell you, it holds you in and up HARD!!. There are three kinds, the panty brief, which I will graduate into in about three months, the high waist long leg, which I don't recommend due to rolling of the waist band, and the body briefer. You buy it by your bra size, but go one size smaller, like if you wear a 40C, get a 38C. The bra part stinks, as it doesn't have much support, but boy, it holds the tummy in great. Maybe you can give it a try and see if that helps the skin adhere better. I go back to work on the 17th, barring any complications, with restrictions. A week or two at half days, and NO lifting or excessive walking. I am feeling pretty good now, with more energy and am getting a lot of house work done, and tons of sewing. Hope you continue to improve. Try the Diet Trim garment. It just may help. It was around $29.00 each. They have white, beige and black.
