Update/question
Hey guys...........a quick little update on me! My surgeon left the practice where I had surgery, and I haven't been back since my one year check-up.......so now my PCP is doing my labs...and I had him run some 18 months (tho I was a month or so late~time flies)and all came back great except my iron! I guess my total iron was fine but my hemoglobim or something like that was low AGAIN.....even having a hysterectomy back in October, I am still running aneamic....drives me nuts I was worried about my b12's because of lack of energy, and here it is anemic/verge of again So I gotta start pumpin the iron again And on top of that I went in because my head was pounding and I had a lot of mucus and a sore throat......not only do I have a sinus infection, but also strep And of course my plastic surgery is scheduled for next Thursday with my pre-op bloodwork Tuesday!!! So I gotta get this infection outta my system, if I have a high white count on tuesday they will cancel my surgery and I will be BUMMED!!!! Although I am way scared of plastics, I don't want it cancelled!!!!! Wish me luck!!! Now for the question......how many have done/are thinking about doing plastic surgery?? My insurance only covers pannilectomy (removal of big apron at the bottom of stomach) but my PS recommended a whole tummy tuck with anchor cut and muscle repair since I have a lot of upper tummy fat too......so I am paying out of pocket for the extra. I am young, and I just can't deal with the apron and skin for a good forty or more years (God willing ) plus my rashes were getting pretty bad even with excellent hygeine and daily care of steroids and such! Of course I would like to have nice perky (.)(.) 's but thats why they have wonderbra's these days!! And my thighs need help.....but I will just try to keep them muscular, and I am not a daisy duke wearer, so who cares!!! I am gonna post some before and after plastic pictures so you can all see!!! How is everyone else's journeys coming along, since we are all about the same time frame out?? Would love to hear from everyone! Take Care Jesi
I went to a reconstructive, applied to my insurance and got denied. I don't have 20 grand to self pay, so I have to live with the rashes and discomfort. I would really love to have my arms done, more than anything, so I can wear short sleeve tops, but that isn't going to happen. Glad you're able to get your tummy done.
MD, how come no pics of you? I know I'd love to put a face with all the wonderful words you post here. How about it, everyone? Wouldn't you love to see MD's photo?

Hi there Jesi,
How are you and everyone else? Well here is the update on me. I am feeling great. I now am holding steading at 130-135 pds. I weighed 245lbs at the day of my surgery. I have lost a total of 115 pds and really don't come too much under the 130 lbs mark. I am 5ft6, so that is enough. I am slim and don't really want to lose more. I was wearing between a size 26/28 before my surgery and now am wearing a size 6 or 8. I feel great. My bloodwork is great. The Dr has cut my Iron tablets down to 3 times a week, instead of everyday. I now can digest food much better.I take my vitamins religously if I do nothing else right for the day.I do find those food demons are still here with me everyday. I guess for the rest of my life I will battle this.I will stay strong and try to eat very healthy.
As far as my body skin hanging .... My butt, breasts and thighs are very loose. I can't afford to fix them yet. My insurance will cover the LBL but I really don't have much skin hanging there. I am a nurse so my arms and Lower Body (the Apron ) is not hanging. I use them constantly and they stayed firm. I do wear those wonderful wonderbras.
I hope you get well in time for your surgery.
Take care Jesi and to all that read this post.
Diane ... Please post again so I can read your wisdom.
