What are you eating today ?
well... I had my blood work done but haven't gotten the results because they were misplaced at my Dr's office...of course. I haven't been back by to follow up yet. I have to go in 2 weeks for my allergy shots and might as well wait til then.
I know my overall number is good but my triglycerides were still high for my 6 month eval. I hope there is improvement. But I know I am not eating healthy. I am just eating LESS amounts of the bad stuff.
I have switched to Reduced Fat cheeses at home (Cabot 50 or 75% RF) and the RF Kraft or Sargento Shredded Mild Cheddar or Mozzarellas etc... SO I am making some changes that I would have NEVER ever considered doing in the past.
I try to do the RF chips or the 100 calorie snack packs OR count out the servings for snack foods. I normally only eat a few
I go to my PCP on 2/28 for an annual physical. When I had appointment with my surgeon in January my labs were good. (chol ws 176) I don't know if I eat "exciting" but I try to eat good and I enjoy what I do eat.
Breakfast: Cooked Oats w/spoonful each of blueberries, blackberries, raspberries & soy milk. cafe con leche w/splenda
Lunch: 4 small boiled shrimp & salad
Dinner: 2-3 oz of spaghetti, 1/2 salad
Protein drink & yogurt before bed.

My LDL was 110 and my good cholesterol was 149. My PCP says for a high protein diet that is good. But I am concerned about the LDL. That shouldn't be over 80. So I cut down on the red meat and upped the shakes. It's now 92. I'm still working on it.
Menu for today:
am shake
b-fast, 1c cottage cheese, low fat, 1 low carb tortilla, and two oz low fat sharp cheese spread.
snack:apple
lunch: 2oz pork chop, 1/2 c brown rice, 1/2 cauliflower with low fat cheese sause (leftovers from supper)
snack:shake
supper: 3oz chicken and a salad w/bleu cheese dressing, just 2tbsp, but its Maries,(yum)
IF I have dessert, its a sf/ff/ popcicle or fudgecicle.
It's about 1000 calories.

Oh, My gosh...true confession time here. Yesterday was a bad day. I worked a 12hour night shift on Monday Night and did not get to sleep till 7pm on Tuesday. So after being up almost 30hours strait I was grumpy and munching on anything and everything all day.
Tuesday 4am- protien shake
6am- protien shake
8am- 1/2c rice
9am- handfull of captin crunch cereal
11am-hotdogbun w/ketchup (no idea why)
12pm-handfull of fritos corn chips
2pm-flour tortilla
3pm-1/2 klondike icecream bar
5pm-1 cheese stick and 6 whole wheat crackers
6:30-1/2 terriaky chicken thigh, 1/2c rice, 2T carrots (finally a decent meal)
CARBS*CARBS*CARBS*YUCK*YUCK*YUCK
Even with WLS it is so easy to snack all day and on all the wrong things. Well, back on track for me today. Wish me luck.
