An Idea for support
Based on reading Lorraine's latest post on being scared about gaining weight...
I was thinking of starting a daily thread here so we could all support each other on our daily food intake by listing (honestly) our food intake for the day. What do you think? It would be a safe and open feedback thread so we could get and give support to those of us who might be struggling with food choices at this point in our journey.
Sound off guys
Diane
Sounds good to me. I have gained 2 to 3 pounds this week and I am scared to death. I still have my last 15 pounds to loose and it is getting pretty darn hard.
I am like you...COFFEE!! I drink it most of the day. I do use splenda instead of sugar. I drink some Minute Maid lites during the day but I am sure that is not enough. I have had some diet dr pepper around the house. I couldn't pass it up...was on sale for 65 cents a 2 liter! Shame on me, I know! RITZ CRACKERS AND PEANUT BUTTER!! Can't get enough of them.
My hair has started to fall out again so I know that my protein intake is not what it should be.
I think a daily "confessional" would be a good thing.

If I have splenda in my cupboard, does it count? Didn't think so .
I like the minute maid lite drinks too. I was told pre-op to have absolutely no carbonated beverages after surgery, the bubbles fill you up and can expand and stretch your pouch. However, I have read and heard of several people that have had beer, diet soda, etc. I sometimes crave a bubbly drink, but have not given in to that temptation as of yet.
My cravings for saltines (about 5 or 6) crackers and cheese (about 2 slices) or crackers and low-carb peanut butter have been my main lunches for the past three weeks or more, it's terrible. My rationalization is, cheese is protein and so is peanut butter right? But the carbs from the crackers kinda kills it and it's not enough protein for that one meal.
I think we can definetely benefit from supporting each other with these issues we all might be having. Knowing we are not alone is helpful in itself
Thanks Rhonda

Count me in!!! The more I have to be responsible for my eating, the better I like it. HEre's my menu for today. If I deviate, I'll post that, too.
am:shake
b-fast: turkey wrap on low carb tortilla shell
snack: protein pudding
lunch: 2oz chicken wrap and broccoli with low fat cheese
snack: 1/2 pear
supper: 1cup home made chile with low fat cheese
I also drink a liquid vitamin that has protein and 110 calories when I get home from work, about an hour before supper. So I guess that counts as 3 shakes a day.
The pudding is Carb Solutions Shake mix, made with 6oz of water. It's low carb, 110 calories, Splenda and not too bad tasting. Chocolate.

I have to update my foods. I am having a difficult time eating meats today, so I am drinking my protein. so:
am shake,
b-fast: 3oz turkey wrap
snack: 1/2 pear
lunch: low carb yogurt and handful of soy nuts. Didn't do well on the nuts., so added a shake
snack:1/2 apple with 2 tbsp p.butter
supper: shake and a salad
I don't know what is wrong, but when I eat dense protein, any meat, I get an awful pain in my pouch. Doubles me right over. Eating light is ok as long as it is less than 3/4 cup. Any ideas?

Go****s been so long since Ive posted here... I check in just about every day but rarely post.. Struggle is my middle name at this point and I think your daily food log idea is wonderful and necessary for me. I barely hit my 100 lbs loss and am having difficulty maintaining because my appetite is back with a vengence... i seem to get hungry and begin with the "food thoughts just about every couple hours.. and what's really frustrating for me is that when I'm consistant with my exercise is when my appetite is in 5th gear... go figure..
oh well..
have a great day
