How is Everyone doing so far?
May i ask how everyone is doing so far? Trying to see where everyone else is as far as their weight, food intake and exercise. i am finding it increasingly hard to find the time to exercise..what with 4 kids and going to school myself, part time. Seems like i never have time for just me to get out there and exercise. I am supposed to be taking in no more than 800 calories a day, minimum of 60 grams protein(my dr doesnt like our protein coming from shakes), our minimum of 64 ounces of water. Most days i have trouble in my busy schedule so i try to get some shakes in. I also take a multi vitamin and a 2 calcium chewables, the Viactiv, Wal Mart brand. My start weight was 371, 341 at surgery..now i am about 218. i know i have more to lose and i have to get myself going. Any one want to share where they are now as far as this stuff goes and maybe any advice to get myself going again? Thank you in advance everyone!
Jamce, You have done wonderful. I really don't count the protein, but I estimate about 60-70 grms a day. I really don't count calories. I do fill up very fast. I make sure I start my meal off with veggies and proteins. I started at 245lbs , and now I weigh between 132-135 pds. I had my surgery on 12/15/03. I am at "Goal"
I still have a hard time drinking water, but I do drink lots of teas, coffees and some water.
I take a mullit-vitamin every day, iron, calcium, biotin for the hair growth. I don't let one day pass without taking my vitamins. I really don't want to lose more. I am 5ft6 and am now wearing a size 6. I had hernia surgery in September so I slowed up the exercise. I will begin walking again on the boardwalk when the weather gets warmer.
I am soon to consult a plastic surgeon . I hope that goes well also
Have a great day and keep up the good work.

Hi Janice,
I'm at a standstill, too. I personally think it's because I eat too much. I wish I could get by on less than 1000 calories, but I just don't know how to. For breakfast, I had 4 egg whites, and half an Atkins bar. For lunch it's a single serving pizza with extra cheese and a side of broccoli. Snack, if I have one, is an apple. Supper is a stir fry of pork tenterloin, veggies and red potatoes, probably about 1-2 cups and a salad. I know, that's too much food. But I don't eat until I'm full. I exercise only on the three day weekend because I work full time and am gone from 6-6 daily. I use a treadmill, sometimes a Gazelle, weights, toning bands or an occasional work out video. I try for 40 minutes of exercise each day. I should do more during the week but it's so late when I get home. Maybe when it's warmer and light later I can go for a walk at night. But it's 2 degrees outside here and it's dark when I get home. I'm just too pooped to pop at night right now.
Nona
Hi there Nona, I just read your post. You are doing great. Even though you are at a standstill at least you exercise a bit. I walk at work, being in nursing, but since my hernia surgery I have not exercised at all. ' I HATE TO EXERCISE" I hope when the weather gets better,I can begin again to walk the boardwalk. I enjoy that alot.
Take care Nona, Keep up the good work in maintaining

Well I am down -128 pounds and I am surprised I have lost that much. In the month of December I dropped 7 lbs because I was so busy. I really don't count calories but do try to eat the good things! However, my down fall is those darn crackers! I love cheese and crackers!!!!
I am excited that I am started a support group as a chapter leader for the ObesityHelp website. Our first meeting is in February and so far I have like 5 people who want to come. Its amazing how many people want this sugery or want to be educated on it.
I am wearing a 4/6 and before surgery I was wearing a 24/26. I will be having a TT this year. Just working on getting the paper work documented for insurance.
karie ...glad to see all you are doing great! Its wonderful to see some postings here on the board!!!!!
Hey Janice. I weighed 347 lbs at surgery and am down to 152 lbs now. I've lost 195 lbs so far. I am hoping to lose another 2 lbs before my lower body lift which is scheduled for Feb 17th. I consume about 800-1000 calories a day. I struggle with head hunger a lot not physical hunger. I fight it and sometimes I lose but I'm okay with that and pick myself up right away. I exercise a lot, about 5-6 times a week. At home I do the treadmill for 60 minutes and at the gym I do the elliptical and weight machines. Exercise has been the key for me. I take 2 multi-vitamins a day plus an iron pill. I also drink a lot of water and only water, no coffee or tea or s/f juice.
