When do you stop losing?

Over the past year, I had so many people ask me 'how does your body know when to stop losing?' My goal weight was so far away that I never really worried about that answer.... until now. I still weigh 157, which technically is overweight. But I am quite happy with how I look and feel. In fact, in the last two weeks several people have told me I'm too skinny, and some have even said I'm looking sickly. These comments are making me feel very self-conscious, and mad. I think people are just so used to seeing my face puffy, and now I look so different,- and some may even be a bit jealous. But, I do wonder when the weight stops. If any of you have any insight, please share it with me. I haven't been on the message boards for a long time. I see my doctor in December and will ask him then, but for now I'm really curious. I seem to be losing really slow now. Plus, I am eating so much more now that it actually scares me. I can eat a whole sandwich or a whole bowl of cereal. I don't count calories, but I'm betting I get in at least 1000 a day, give or take 200. Sweet desserts make me slightly ill, but other than that I can eat just about anything. I never found a protein drink I like, but I welcome your suggestions on that. I think I probably only average 50 - 60 protein a day. After reading some of your posts, I am determined to find a way to get in more protein. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Hi there Ann, How are you doing? I am great. I had my surgery on December 15,2003. I started my journey at 245 lbs. I have lost 110 pds. I now weigh 135 lbs. I am 5ft6 and look very slim. I have not lost too much more weight in about 2 or 3 months. I am very satisfied at this weight even though my DR would like for me to lose a few more pds. I think the body knows when to slow down. Our bodies tell us when to eat, drink, sleep, I truly believe it will stop losing when ready. I really can't eat too much more of good foods. My intake is very limited. Junk food is easier. Isn't that funny? I bought a protein drink from the Vitamin Shoppe called Body Tech Whey Protein. I drink the vanilla and chocolate. I enjoy it very much because its made with splenda and its a bit thicker than crystal light. Its not thick like most protein drinks. I think it is delicous. People are so funny when it comes to making comments about your weight loss, especially a dramatic weight loss like ours. I think alot are jealous. I don't pay much attention to them. I am happy. I am now going into size 6 and I am as happy as a pig in s--t. Know what I mean? Take care and keep on your journey ok.... Lorraine

I started out at 225 and now stuck (for about 3 months) at 145. I am like Lorraine and I believe that your body just knows. I like the way I look (except for "my girls"). I am looking into a plastic surgeon now. I just am kinda hesitant because of it being another surgery and the pain factor. But like my brother says...NO PAIN NO GAIN! Take care, Rhonda
